Welcome to our DEAI Forum!

During these uncertain times, I find it challenging not to give in to the pessimistic view that none of this will get better.

But the knowledge that I am not alone in fighting for equality, diversity, accessibility, and inclusion for all is what honestly keeps me from falling deep into that dark hole of cynicism. I know that DEAI is at the forefront of everyone’s minds right now, with arts and cultural organizations across the globe having already engaged in this work or just beginning to formulate the ways they can create positive change for all within their organization and community.

When Tessitura Network decided to form our DEAI Committee and forge ahead with our initiatives, we knew it would be a huge undertaking. We knew that we were, quite frankly, behind the ball with a lot of this work and we knew that change needed to happen right now. We are by no means even within sight of the finish line, if one even exists. There is so much more work we need to do, more knowledge we need to attain, and we know that we’re not alone in this sentiment.

We are starting this forum as a home for all to gather and share anything and everything DEAI related, both for those who are just embarking on their journey and for those continuing it. This is an opportunity to learn from each other, provide each other with resources, and share our wins and losses while maintaining a safe, positive, and inclusive environment.

I hope you can, like me, take some comfort in knowing that you are not alone in this fight. That no matter how insurmountable the challenges ahead may seem, you have an entire community ready to face them with you.
