Educating Your Audience
Jared Webster, Group Sales Manager, Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra
Research suggests that the more an audience member knows about the art form your organization offers, the more likely they are to attend frequently, subscribe and donate. In this session we'll hear about the Cincinnati Symphony’s One City One Symphony initiative that was created in an effort to deliver an innovative education initiative designed to increase their audience's knowledge levels, drive customer engagement and build loyalty.
Digital Audience Engagement
Kristina Murti, Associate Director of Marketing, Seattle Opera
Thomas Weitz, Senior Manager of Digital Marketing, San Francisco Ballet
Arts and cultural organizations are some of the most successful at enchanting customers and creating long-lasting affinity. Many of these organizations have successfully made the hop into digital media and are building new-form audience engagement. Whether you are just starting to build digital engagement or have a well-established base, a logical question follows: how can you grow digital engagement, sustain it and translate it into sales or some form of affinity that helps realize your organization's broader goals? This panel discussion will focus on answering this question
Design with the User Experience in Mind: If you Build It Correctly, They Will Come
Catherine Devine, Chief Digital Officer, American Museum of Natural History
Designing your website with the user experience in mind is not a new concept - but it does need constant attention and a focus on the visitor/patron. Presenters will discuss the key principles they've used to develop their web and mobile sites to optimize the user experience for patrons, donors, fans and other visitors. We'll investigate the key components of good design from the visitor/patron’s point of view, in addition to the latest trends.
After these presentations we’ll breakout into our departmental groups and discuss these topics and any you would like to bring to the table…
Marketing
Website Governance – How does your organization determine: who creates, updates, and has the final say on your website’s content; frequency of re-design; style guides; level of involvement/access of each department; etc.
Social Media – At this year’s Tessitura conference, the 80/20 rule was mentioned --- reiterating that 80% of company’s social media posts should be engaging content your patrons will enjoy and 20% of posts may include a mention of ticket sales or a donation pitch. Does your organization follow this rule? How do you manage the voice and content of your social media channels?
Ticketing
Do organizations have a digital strategy when it comes to audience services/ box office?
If so, how are you using this to communication and manage expectations to patrons, and if not, what trends do you see your organization moving to or embracing in the future.
IT
An increasing number of staff in workplaces now own devices and expect them to work with existing networks and systems, how do we balance managing all of these devices while ensuring we keep our data secure.
Development
designated giving, benefits management, special events and donor behavior analysis – what do you have supported online (for desktop and mobile) and what’s really worth it? What’s your organization’s strategy to balance digital real estate and institutional resources between Devo and other areas?
We hope that you will be able to attend, learn, share and network with your fellow Chicago Tessitura Users. Lyric Opera of Chicago will be our host on Tuesday, October 21 3pm-5pm. Please RSVP at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/R7WMFXD
