Greetings and Call for a Co-Chair

Hello, everyone!

I wanted to introduce myself to this group properly, as I know several (but not all) of you either personally or professionally.  I am the Database Administrator AKA Tessitura Wizard at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet and I have stepped in to co-chair the Winnipeg Tessitura Community group. I am hopeful that we will be able to get going again on events and collaboration!  :)

I currently work remotely with journeys into the office when I am needed. I previously worked for the RWB from 2015 to 2018 as the Development Coordinator and drank the Tessitura Kool-Aid after attending TLCC in 2017 and 2018. In 2018 I left the organization to explore another opportunity. While away, I realized that while I have a data-based brain, I am also, first and foremost, an artist (mezzo-soprano over here!), and I wanted to be in a career that allowed me to be in both worlds. I rejoined the RWB in November of 2021 in the DBA capacity, and am very excited to return to the Tessitura community, and to an organization where I can support the presentation of a great artform! I am looking to expand my professional network and my knowledge of Tessitura, and I believe firmly in sharing the wealth and knowledge so that we can all succeed.

Currently, I am the only chair of the Winnipeg Community Group and I think it would benefit us to have more than just me driving the boat. If you are interested in volunteering to co-chair with me, please send me a note. Currently, my plan is to set up a meeting for the fall, as the summer seems to be coming and going all together too quickly. I am also attending TLCC, as are nine others from the RWB. It would be wonderful to also schedule a meet-up there for those going from our community.

My goal for our group is to re-ignite a place where we can share Tessitura knowledge and experience as well as providing support for each other while we all navigate a new normal. I'm sure we could all make use of a platform for sharing expertise and discussing new ideas. Please watch this group in the coming weeks as I will be posting a couple surveys for us to look forward to a fall meet-up and to help us gather member feedback and ideas.

Please feel free to respond to this thread and introduce yourself so we can all get to know each other, and if you are interested in being a co-chair with me, please reach out!

I look forward to connecting (or re-connecting) with you all!

Thank you!
