Hi Folks,
We went live with TESS a few weeks ago - all things running smoothly! Now for the website. We re-launch a snazzy new one next week, with select a seat functionlaity, but need to find the best way around the issue of those patrons already registered with us, being bombed out of the new registration process on our website. So, does anyone have any advice or experience as to the best thing to do? Our options include finding a way to mail each patron already in TESS with their new username and temp login? Or let them discover they can't register fully when trying to buy tickets for the first time using TESS and field the phone call at box office?
Best idea/advice wins, er, a bag of salt or de-icer (very rare in these parts!)
take care,
giles (in the frozen north).
Hi Giles
We wrote our own script which added a temp login witha password based on their surname and customer no and then emailled all the custoemr with this password and asked them to login and change the password.
We launched our site a couple of week before a major on-sale and so sent a couple of reminders to our Members to encourage them to do this before they booked.
Wasn't perfect still had people creating new accounts and therefore had a fair bit of merging to do, but wasn't too bad.
