Contact point purposes - date ranges

hi all

we are testing Contact Point Purposes in 12.5 and we're looking to use these going forward for data protection instead of our custom DP screen.

However our current DP has a last asked data which populates our custom header so the Box Office team know its time to ask customers.

Contact point purposes do not seem to have a date appointed to them, and therefore wouldn't populate a last asked date. Theoretically the modify date could pull through to a header, but if no changes were needed to be made on a record, the modify date would not change, and therefore would not update the header. Forcing a change seems a little extreme.

Has anyone any experiences of how to handle this. Are you still using a custom DP screen? Would you be interested in a customisation if one was available.

We'd love to hear from you

Cheers

  • Hi Rich,

You're spot on with Contact Point preferences, we're not able to use them for tracking last asked dates.  We're still using a custom DP screen, and we're looking to develop it slightly to allow us to meet the recent Arts Council guidelines for data sharing between NPOs.

    Hi Graeme

Thanks for this. Good to know we’re on the same page! We like Contact Point Purposes and want them to work so we’re going to investigate further. We’ll be sure to share anything we find out!

    Cheers

    Rich
