Gift Aid and Elevate Events

Hi,

One of our consortium partners is going to be using Elevated Events for their gala this year. I have set up the levels and added the correct non-deductible amount - which they can't claim gift aid on.

Looking at this in test, when I process a contribution the full amount is appearing as 'to be claimed'. A quick look at the documentation suggests that this functionality doesn't stretch to gift aid...

Has anyone found a way around this?

Thanks,

Gary

  • Hi Andy,

In the end we created two funds, both pointing to the same GL, but only one had gift aid associated with it. Then they process two contributions in the same way you have been doing, irritating but the only way we could think of doing it.

There's only one elevated event a year so we won't have the same issue that you will, sounds to me like you are going to need to set up a lot of funds!

    Thanks,

    Gary

    Hi Gary,

I came across this just now months after you posted but it relates to one of the key bits of Tessitura that we're finding difficult to set up correctly.

We had a gala recently with the amounts paid spilt between a ticket amount and a donation to be gift aided. I actually set up two completely separate GL accounts and funds. Both of them were linked to the elevated event campaign, but one was marked as available for gift aid while the other wasn't. The team then processed two separate contributions, and only added the elevated event RSVP information for one. In theory because of the fund gift aid setup only one contribution will be marked with gift aid to be claimed, although we're about to run a gift aid claim so I'm not 110% sure it worked yet.

The problem with this setup is that you end up with two funds rather than one in the system. We have quite a lot of events, and because a fund can only be associated with one campaign at any particular point, it looks like I either need to set up a new fund for each event, or link them for very specific dates that don't overlap. Have you run into this problem as well? If so, what's your way around it?

    Thanks,

    Andy
