UK & IRELAND TUG meetup

Hi everyone

Please find below notes from the TUG meetup we had at the UK Conference on Thursday 14 November. The next meeting will be Thursday 6 February 2014.

UK & IRE TUG

Meeting Thursday 14 November 2013

  • Look at sharing more projects between users at the meetings

  • Talk to Tessitura Network about getting more buy in to the UK conference and ask for help in getting sponsorship deals – is it worth trying to get longer term sponsorship e.g. a company sponsor part of the conference for 3 years at a time? CZ spoke to Jack about this at the executive session at the conference and will take further.

  • V12 – RAH and National Theatre going live beginning of new year will feedback at next meeting. It was fed back that there were still some bugs and loading times were long. Would RAH and NT be happy to feed back in Feb how the launch has gone?

  • NScan – WMC, Mayflower and RAH using this – possible agenda item for Feb.

  • Education – TRCH & Sage Gateshead looking closely at this – possible agenda item for Feb

  • Feedback from organisations using TUG groups/ Superusers within their organisations. Hoping that the UK & IRE TUG will develop into multiple smaller TUG groups for individual departments eg Ticketing, Development, Marketing, Education etc

  • If anyone is interested in being part of the planning committee for the US conference let Tessitura Network know so that we can have as much input as possible from UK venues – Caryl and Kelly are involved with this if you want a chat with them. Can also email conferences@tessituranetwork.com or ask Tony about the planning committee. Caryl suggested a Google group to help with communication so we will look into this and send out details

  • Might be interesting for people to get together and take trips to other venues but worth co-ordinating so a group of people go together. Agenda item for Feb.

  • The TUG group should raise issues that are UK specific like data protection and more UK presenters at the US conference!

  • Epic Story committee – information available on the Tessitura Network website

If anyone has agenda items for the next conference call meeting please send to nicola.blackburn@nottinghamcity.gov.uk

Next meeting Thursday 6 February 2014 – conference call

Tessitura Network have offered to host again so will liaise with Tony about this

Will send login information and agenda out to the TUG members a week before and post on the TUG group

Thanks Nicola for the recap - and especially thanks for the mentions of TLCC Speaker/Sessions and Planning Committee Opportunities.  2 quick comments.  The email address is actually conference@tessituranetwork.com - (I think there was an extra "s" in the one you posted).  Also, this is a VERY opportune time to express interest in being on the Planning Committee.  We are just days/weeks away from our last push for volunteers and which point we be putting together the sub-committees for the conference planning.

Congrats to your TUG for being so active and productive!

  • Thanks for posting the correct email address Don, I'm sure people will be getting in contact as soon as possible if the want to participate.

We had a great meeting at the UK conference and we are hoping to continue with at least quarterly conference calls for anyone wanting to take part in the UK and Ireland TUG. The Tessitura Network team, especially Tony,  have been really supportive and helpful in launching our TUG.
