Save the Date: Re|Visioning 2020, August 3rd through 7th

Good morning Tulsa friends!

This morning, the Tessitura Network formally announced Re|Visioning 2020, a series of events set to be hosted in the first week of August: the week that normally we'd be gathering in Denver for TLCC2020. I hope that you'll be able to find time for some of this free programming, which I'll be sharing the details of in this update.

Monday, August 3rd

Event: Tessitura Network Business and Product Update

Time: 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM Central

Medium: GoToMeeting Webinar

Description: Tessitura Network continues to navigate the sector-wide impact of a global pandemic by remaining laser-focused on our mission to enable your missions amid an industry turned upside down. At the same time, we continue to build for the future that is unfolding before us. This webinar will provide up-to-the-minute news about our technology, services, community, and more. Join us for an update on how we're continuing to respond as a company and what we're excited about as we look to the future. This webinar takes place during a week when we expected to be gathering in Denver for TLCC2020. In honor of that, the webinar will conclude with an announcement about TLCC2021 including the location for in-person attendees.

Event: Re|Visioning 2020: Virtual Neighborhood Networking

Time: 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Central

Medium: Zoom Video Call

Description: Join us for this casual opportunity to mix and mingle with Tessitura members. We’ll break out into various Block Parties where you’ll have a chance to network and hear from your peers in the industry. This will be a relaxed and fun virtual networking experience. Due to the nature of this session's format, the event will not be recorded.

Tuesday, August 4th

Event: Tessitura Arts & Culture Connection: Re|Visioning Relevance - In Conversation

Time: 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM Central

Medium: Zoom Video Call

Description: Given the change in business-as-usual, many organizations are considering their mission statement and how they bring that to life through their programming and in their communities. This reexamination of organizational relevance allows for new opportunities to impact the community and a new focus for teams. How has your organization been re|visioning relevance? Please join us for a conversation with your peers and colleagues from across the industry in small video discussion groups. This event will be recorded.

Event: Re|Visioning Digital: The Future of Content for Arts and Culture

Time: 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM Central

Medium: Zoom Video Call

Description: The appetite for digital content has burgeoned while audiences and visitors are unable to participate in person, with research indicating that appetite is here to stay. Has COVID-19 provided the catalyst to genuinely extend and expand the cultural experience through digital content? Join Eleanor Robb, from Tasmania’s Museum of Old and New Art (MONA), and our guest panel as they consider the role of digital in meaningfully extending reach and engagement, the perennial question of monetization and whether the conversation of re|visioning digital is, in fact, a conversation about re|visioning our organizations and audiences most broadly. This event will be recorded.

Wednesday, August 5th

Event: EU Tessitura Arts & Culture Connection: Review, Refocus, Reopen - How are organizations approaching change?

Time: 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM Central

Medium: Zoom Video Call

Description: Four months ago many of us had to immediately stop what we were doing for the safety and well-being of our communities. Although it has come with many uncertainties, organizations are choosing to use this period as an opportunity to review, refocus, and work towards reopening.

Gather perspectives from across our community and join speakers from Belfast Waterfront Hal, Shakespeare’s Globe, and The National Gallery for a panel discussion followed by Q&A. In conversation with Kate Watson, Enterprise Consultant, our speakers will take us through their journeys of ‘re-visioning’ during this time, sharing their biggest challenges and takeaways, as well as how they are measuring successes so far. This event will not be recorded.

Speakers:

  • Ashleigh Davidson, Head of Entertainment and Exhibitions, Belfast Waterfront Hall
  • Matthew Hodson, Systems Manager, Shakespeare’s Globe
  • James Beardsworth-Shaw, Head of Commercial Services, The National Gallery

Thursday, August 6th

Description: Given the change in business-as-usual, many organizations are considering their mission statement and how they bring that to life through their programming and in their communities. Please join us for a panel discussion with The Dallas Opera executives Ian Derrer, General Director & CEO, and Lisa Bury, Chief Strategy and Advancement Officer, as they chronicle their outstanding work to redefine relevance in their organization. Small group video discussions will follow with your peers and colleagues from across the industry. Erin Koppel, Tessitura SVP Consulting, will moderate. This event will be recorded.

Event: Rewind: Tessiturians Watch Party

Time: 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM Central

Medium: Zoom Video Call

Description: All are welcome to join us as we gather to view past performances of the Tessitura Network Community’s rock band known as the Tessiturians. We will come together to watch Tessitura members performing songs often with fun, silly, twisted lyrics about the community. Bring your guests and groove along in this family-friendly celebration. Due to the session's format, this event will not be recorded.

Event: Tessitura Arts & Culture Connection: Virtual Open Space Discussions - Re|Visioning (Part 1)

Time: 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Central

Medium: Zoom Video Call

Description: The pandemic, economic uncertainty, and social injustice are affecting our lives and well-being - personally and professionally. It is an understatement to say that we are in a time of change - a time of revisioning what the future will be for us and our organizations.

Many of us have questions we would like to ask and discuss with others in our community - questions about reopening our doors, about our new working environments, about engaging with our patrons and staffs, and beyond. We all benefit from learning from similar organizations near to us, but we also have so much to learn from organizations in other parts of the world representing other forms of Arts and Culture.

Friday, August 7th
