Department

Responsibilities
The Database Specialist is primarily responsible for administering the museum’s Ticketing System/CRM.

Daily tasks would include:

  • Manages, configures, and supports Ringling Museum Enterprise Ticketing System/CRM.
  • Supports the Museum Information Technology department by providing technical user support to staff and installs and configures computer, telephone, and network hardware.
  • Oversees use of system by other departments, to ensure rules and standards are being adhered to for accurate system reports and database integrity while managing its use amongst multiple areas/departments within the organization.
  • Aligns Ringling Museum Enterprise Ticketing System/CRM priorities with those of the institution and Museum Stakeholders.
  • Researches solutions to complex problems and collaborates with other members of IT staff.

Less frequent tasks include:

  • Creates/Assists staff with creation of user generated content within the system to include entry and configuration of ticketed events, discounts/packages, membership related donation requests, and other similar day to day content.
  • Does backend administrative tasks within the Ticketing System/CRM.
  • Works with stakeholders to integrate the Ticketing System/CRM, with other enterprise systems, to provide better access to data.
  • Assists information Security Manager with ensuring credit card sales within the Ticketing System/CRM (ticketing and membership driven) are secure and maintain PCI-DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) compliance.
  • Provides audio visual support.
  • Assists in implementation of new enterprise systems and provides staff training.
  • Uses golf cart to transport computer equipment.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or other appropriate degree and four years' experience or a combination of appropriate post high school education and experience equal to eight years.
Please note that higher education can substitute for experience at the equivalent rate.

As this role works with vendors and stakeholders within the organization, important qualifications include:

  • The ability to effectively communicate (phone/email/in-person) information of a technical and non-technical nature.
  • Provide service with a people-first attitude.
  • Prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.
  • Utilize problem solving skills.
  • A valid driver's license or the ability to obtain prior to hire is required due to the need to drive state owned golf carts.

While helpful, these skills are not required to be considered:

  • Previous database experience.
  • Basic technical support experience
  • Previous experience with Tessitura (or another ticketing system/CRM) 

Tessitura is an enterprise application used by performing arts and cultural organizations to manage their activities in ticketing, fundraising, customer relationship management, and marketing.

Considerations
Rate of Pay: The anticipated rate of pay will likely fall in the lower to upper $60,000 range, but will ultimately be based on the education, skills, and experience of the selected candidate. Find out more about our comprehensive benefits package under the "FSU Total Rewards" section.

Working Hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday - Friday with a one-hour meal period, with some flexibility with regards to working hours.

This position is based in Sarasota, FL.
This is an A&P position.
This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check to include fingerprinting.
