Hello, everyone!
We're looking to enable a few of our accessible seats on TNEW and I'm wondering if anyone is doing that already (out of the box or customized). If so, would you be willing to share some examples.I'm specifically interested in selling seats that need to be removed to accommodate a wheelchair. So, if we sell one wheelchair spot, we will need to remove a seat beside it. We're also looking to enable companion seats.
Any tips/feedback/examples you can share would be much appreciated.
Thank you!Anastassia
This is a really great question and hopefully some one has a great solution! We're not in a situation where we have to remove a seat when one is sold as wheelchair accessible, though I wonder how far you could get with just pricing rules for custom messages? I was just looking for a couple seats for Oppenheimer this weekend and noticed Cineplex provides this messaging to those seats:WHEELCHAIR COMPANION You have chosen a seat reserved for a person who is accompanying a guest in a wheelchair. Management reserves the right to relocate your seat or provide a refund should you not meet these conditions. Choose OK to proceed with this selection or Cancel to make another selection.
WHEELCHAIR You have chosen a wheelchair space. There is no physical seat. Choose OK to proceed with this selection or Cancel to make another selection.
HI Anastassia,
This isn't going to help you in the short term but I wanted to let you know that the Special Seat Notification feature is included with Tessitura v16 and is no longer a paid Plug-in. It provides messages that users agree to on TNEW in order to proceed when choosing special seat types.
Thanks,
Jessica
This is a great example - looking forward to being able to apply this kind of messaging in v16!
Hi Devon,
Thank you for providing that example! When I spoke with Tessitura, they provided State Theatre New Jersey as an example, which also does something similar to Cineplex. The Met Opera puts every seat beside a Wheelchair spot on a hold, so that when the Wheelchair seat is booked, they can kill the seat next to it. We might go with this option as well.
Hi Jessica,
Thank you! We do currently have the Special Seat Notification as a plug-in, but we use it for our Obstructed view seats. From what I understand, it's not possible to use in on more than two different seat types?
