Hi everyone,
Tafelmusik is in the early stages of migrating over to Tessitura and we are currently researching payment gateways and processors. We have been told this all needs to be set up by the end of July.
Our current processor is Global Payments, however my understanding is that neither approved gateway (Vantiv or Payment Express) currently works with Global. It seems our choices are:
Vantiv/First DataORPayment Express/Chase Paymentech
I am interested to know, from our fellow Ontario arts organisations, which payment gateway and processor you are using, and why you made this decision.
Thanks so much for your help, I look forward to meeting you all in person sometime soon!

Hi Sarah,
We have just transitioned to Payment Express, and made the decision largely based on the selection of acquiring partners. I believe there are more choices than Chase Paymentech if you decide to go with Payment Express, or at least we were offered another option.
First Data acts as both gateway and acquirer in Canada, from what I understand, and is the only option with that particular gateway.
Also, something which may be worth mentioning, we worked with another organization/broker called Currency Systems who helped us negotiate better rates with our acquirer. I'm happy to discuss how that all worked out over the phone if you like.

Our processor is Global Payments and our gateway is Transcend, which Ramp is phasing out later this year.
In an effort to avoid switching processors, we've managed to facilitate discussion with Ramp, Global and Payment Express re: the necessary certification.
Its promising though at the moment I don't have timeline on if/when this might happen.

We’re with Payment Express and Chase and it’s been fine. We just moved over to Payment Express a few months ago. We’re on RAMP. We were already with CHASE so we didn’t want to switch everything. That’s why we went with Payment Express. I’d be happy to provide more detail if you have further questions. I know we’re somewhat similar in size and you’ll be doing similar things in Tessitura so I’m happy to have a chat anytime.
Good luck with the implementation!

We are using Element and Chase Paymentech. One of the main reasons for choosing Element was Tessitura’s commitment to implement tokenization in their platform.

We are using Paymentech/Transcend – not on RAMP.
However, we would like to switch off Transcend after our tournament.

Hi Jessica
Thanks so much for your advice on this! We have decided we’d like to go with Payment Express and Moneris in order to accept debit payments.
Did you get your POS terminals from Payment Express, or from Chase? Can you accept debit? Why did you decide yes or no on this?
How many merchant accounts do you guys have with Chase?
