Hello Everyone,
It was relayed to me recently that Transcend has a version 3 that is the recommended to resolve periodic, seemingly random, timeouts in our payment gateway. After hunting around the forums, I discovered that this is indeed the case but I also found a comment that Tessitura will be phasing out the Transcend model, though there is no set timeline for doing so (according to a response from Bob Bell).
We are also investigating Element but found, as was the case two years ago when they were first presented to the Network, that Element does not support our payment processor, Paymentech in Canada. Also, then as now, Element has no short or long term plans to introduce support for Paymentech.
So, we are left with a choice to either upgrade from Transcend V2 to V3 with an uncertain future or to go with Element and have to change over all of our Merchant accounts.
We are interested to know:
Ultimately, we are trying to determine if there is enough Canadian representation using Paymentech that it might persuade Element to add Paymentech into the fold of supported processors.
Thanks for your time,
Rick Crawford

At the National Ballet of Canada we just migrated from Transced 3 to Element. The main reason for the migration is that Element is tokenization ready and, as per the TN, tokenization will be implemented in Tessitura with Element being the only one in the plans to be supported (there might be others in the future). We were also not happy with the quality of Transcend’s software, with some annoying bugs, very counter-intuitive user interface and undocumented features.
We are using Paymentech’s Tampa platform which supports Element, with plans to move to full Element once tokenization is implemented in Tessitura.
