Food for Thought: The Disease of Being Busy and How it Affects Us

Wow! PortlandTUG, have you seen the recent Innovator Series presentation by Lisa Middleton, Director of Marketing for Lyric Opera of Chicago?

In this fantastic presentation "The Disease of Being Busy and How It Affects Us," Lisa really throws down a challenge to us all to break free from being too busy to LIVE.  Not only that, but she makes a compelling argument that the arts & cultural world can provide a cure for the "disease of busy-ness" by offering experiences that give audiences greater, longer-lasting happiness.

Watch Lisa's presentation HERE and let me know if you're inspired to break free from YOUR busy life!

    Hi Meredith,

Thanks for the link - it's GREAT food for thought!  Always ready to break free... Any thoughts for encouraging fellow PTUGers to do the same?  :)

  • Hey Beth! Glad you enjoyed the little gem from Lisa Middleton.

I think there are so many ways you can encourage your colleagues to break free from the busy-ness.  Seems like you've got some great shows coming up at Broadway Rose this season....what if you invited a few colleagues to join you at one of the shows?  Could be a great way to promote the idea of "living in the culture" and let the magic of live theatre heal you. Not to mention, shared experiences are always the best.  :)

    Cheers! Meredith
