I'll keep this thread going with ongoing updates on how our data sharing inititatives are and aren't going. Feel freely to comment freely and without reproach.
Had a very in-depth converstaion about the possible project with John Elliott and came away very impressed. As I've been saying (preaching) it's going to be about two things: scope and structure.
As the MSO and Rep can attest, our level of involvement and thus cost depends on what we want to do and how we want to use them. For the MSO he worked with them to find the total number of promotions over the course of a year that we would use his services and divided by twleve to come up with a monthly fee. (This is the arrangement he prefers.) He then works with the MSO for each promotion to find the objective, structure and past history and then assists in analyzing the results.
By virtue of working with an organization some level of market analysis is inherent - he needs to create a customer market model simply to do what we ask for targeting mailings and testing/compiling results. With more data and a larger scope he can create a cross-sell model to find customers for other products. He is going to send me some contacts for other consortiums.
One thing I would like us to think about, and it occurred to me after we talked earlier, is the idea of a MAP Catalog as a large, consortium wide targeted mailing that could be sent to ticketbuyers where they could select perfs any organization to attend. [Logistics of making this work? I have some ideas but no idea if they work or not.] He mentioned that some organizations have just started with this concept and are testing, and he will send me an example.
I'll have a much more detailed debrief in your email-boxes today.
Wow Matt, that was a long time ago, any update?
As a matter of fact you hadnsome devil, I do have an update. John and I talked on Firday afternoon and we should have the final product in our hands this week.
When I get it I'm gong to read it over and share with my esteemed colleagues on the JAD Committee. They should expect that soon.
Great presentation today on John's StarMAP scope of work.
It appears by this discussion Forum that you seem to just reply to yourself. Is it ok, that I added something to it?
I get lonely in the basement. I suppose it’s ok.
