Greetings from your new Community Group co-chairs!

Hello Houston Tessitura folks!

I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself as one of your new community group Co-Chairs! I served on the planning committee for 2023, and I'm happy to be joining Neda Asgharzadeh and our other new Co-Chair (who will introduce herself!) in cooking up some worthwhile events for us in 2024.

A little about me: I'm a newcomer to the Houston-area (and I actually live northward in Willis). I've got a little boy who starts kindergarten this fall, a husband, an old dog, a young dog with too much energy, a cat, and a box full of worms in my garden. I grew up around farm animals and riding horses, and I enjoy stories, singing, and being outside. I've worked in Tessitura since I started at the Haugh Performing Arts Center in California in 2014. I've done a variety of things from Box Office, Group Sales, Community Outreach, and Front of House, Financial reporting & exports, Ticketing setup, picking up artists from airports...whatever needs to be done!  After moving to Texas, I enjoyed almost two years as the Ticketing Operations Specialist at the wonderful Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. Since late 2023, I'm now with another great team at Houston Grand Opera, as the Ticketing and Marketing Data Manager.

I look forward to facilitating some helpful conversations and networking, and getting to know more of you! If you're nearby, feel free to reach out. I'm always happy to meet up for lunch.

  • Hey, everyone! I’m super excited to be joining Neda and Michelle as co-chair.

A bit about myself: I've been with HMNS since 2007 in a variety of roles, most recently Visitor Services Sales Supervisor (2012-2018) and AD/Director of Membership (2018-2023). Since April 2023, I've been the Director, Tessitura CRM, which is part of our IT department.

My pronouns are she/her, and I'm a neurodivergent mom to a neurodivergent kiddo with an ND partner, making accessibility something I'm really excited about. And I get to work with my sister, who’s in our Youth Ed department (Melissa with all the spiders, if y’all have met at events).

Our org went live on Tessitura in Aug 2023, straight into V16 + TMS. I've been to at least half the orgs I see represented in the group, and would love to make it out to the others; I'm sure we'll host something at HMNS in the future and give y’all the opportunity to check us out too. Slight smile

  • So glad to be working with you again!

  • Welcome, Laura! So happy that you've joined as a co-chair!
