Hello Houston! I’m one of the new co-chairs for the Houston Tessitura Community and I’m excited to get to know you all. I work at the Houston Botanic Garden as the Director of Operations, and I’ve been overseeing all of our Tessitura operations since I started here last June. I have a background in the performing arts, and I’ve sung classical music professionally and worked in career development at the Juilliard School – all before relocating to Houston and joining a slightly different flavor of cultural institution. Let me just say, I’ll take a Houston summer over a New York winter in a heart-beat, and I’m so happy to be here!
Feel free to reply to this thread to let me know who you are and what you have gotten/hope to get from this group. Also, be on the lookout for some other posts intended to gather feedback and interests. I hope to start organizing some to-dos soon! I’m always open to ideas, so ping me any time. We’re still looking for at least one other co-chair if y’all are interested!
If you are interested in volunteering as a co-chair, Meredith Woolard will be hosting an info session about this tomorrow, Wednesday, February 9 at 3pm CT. Feel free to join if you want to learn more! https://www.tessituranetwork.com/Items/Events/webinars/2022/Members/Community-Chairs-Info-02092022
Thanks for reading! - Katherine
Thank you Katherine! I am Ragan and I am one of the local Tessiturians. I previously worked for the Symphony and Alley Theatre before joining the Tessitura support team and now work with the growth team. I am looking forward to the Witness event at HBG on Saturday!
Ragan, thanks so much for introducing yourself. Did you make it to the event on Saturday? I hear it was really well attended, and a special event.
I did! It was so great. I learned about a number of great community organizations to support and I am looking forward to the next event in the series in March.
