We are beginning a new thing as we start the Greater New York Area Tessitura Users group (NYC TUG). One of the questions I have is what is our group? From the excitement and energy I'm feeling from everyone, I suspect that each of us has some ideas, hopes, or some questions about what this group can and should be. I know that I do. As we prepare for the meeting on October 2nd I've been thinking a lot about this question. Over the next few months I'm hoping we can come to some general agreements on this question. Because, I believe from these agreements, and a common vision, will come the energy to make this group a success for each of us.
As a first attempt, and in preparation for our meeting. I'd like each of you to take part in a brief visioning exercise. Imagine that the date is October, 8th 2014. You just attended a great users group meeting last night. It's the next morning, and you are walking into your office building ready to take on a new day. A new colleague arrives at the front door of your building at the same time as you do. He or she greets you, and you happen to mention that you attended a great Tessitura Users Group Meeting last night. Your colleague asks what's that? How would you like to be able to answer you colleague? You only have time for two or three statement because each of you each has to get started with your day. What would you want to be able to say about the Greater New York City Area Tessitura User Group.
I've setup a quick 1 question survey to gather your answers. There are no right or wrong answers to this question. What would you like to be able to say about our group.
Please provide your answers by the end of next week 9/21/2012 using the following URL http://goo.gl/joA8W. Once you have filled out your answer you can see what others are saying.

All,
We have 13 interesting responses to our vision question. It’s time for us to sort through the list, and see if we can come to a consensus regarding a preliminary vision, or at least a small number of visions for our group.
Please follow the link below to one more Google form. You now can read the suggestions from your colleagues about what NYC TUG should become. You each have 3 (tick) votes that you can use to point out the best of the 13 suggestions. Go to:

Please respond by end of day on Friday 9/28/2012 so that we can compile your responses as part of our meeting.
I’m really excited to see each of you on 10/2/2012.
Tom
