Upcoming Webinar: Digital Accessibility and Inclusion for Arts & Culture Organizations Virtual Presentation from Accessible by Design

Hope to see everyone at the Digital Accessibility Webinar tomorrow!

Information:

Our organizations have the power to transform lives through experiences. Those experiences often start online, researching an event or reserving a ticket: are your digital platforms as accessible as your art?

Accessibility should be considered at the outset of a project and on an ongoing basis as part of business as usual. To provide equitable access for all of your audience, design, code, and content must all be accessible. Learn some important basic tenets of web accessibility from Caspian Turner (Accessible by Design), including an overview on what digital accessibility means, how assistive technology removes barriers, and web content guidelines and legislation. Caspian will also highlight arts-specific accessibility barriers, and thoughts about how to start or accelerate your organization's development towards an equitable, enjoyable and easy online experience for everybody.

This webinar is suitable for anyone engaged with digital content creation, online platform management, or general advocacy for how your non-profit invests in web accessibility. It takes place on Tuesday, April 18th at 12:00pm EST.  There will be time held for Q&A.  Please email Michael deFroda at mdefroda@lincolncenter.org with accessibility questions or requests.  This webinar will not be recorded.

Accessible by Design:

Accessible by Design exists to help arts sector organizations and technology partners design, build and maintain accessible websites, applications, and digital communications. We offer support for planning, testing and auditing websites and digital content, ensuring that, from the outset and on an ongoing basis, digital experiences are more accessible for everyone.

Caspian Turner:

Prior to starting Accessible by Design in 2021, Caspian held in-house roles at Glyndebourne and Southbank Centre, was a Web Implementation Specialist at Tessitura Network, and most recently held the post of Head of Strategy and Consulting at Substrakt.
