Managing Education Programs through Tessitura: An unConference

You are invited to an Un-Conference:

OUR THEME – Managing Education Programs through Tessitura

Educations is an important part of our organization’s mission. As our organizations use Tessitura to Support Educational Relationships and events. We the educational leadership and staff maintain thousands, tens of thousands, or even millions of relationships with Students, Teachers, educational organizations around our communities and the world. However, our needs are often different from those of the organizations we work in. How can we leverage Tessitura and related tools to make our lives easier and more effective? As the Tessitura technology develops and provides a richer feature set, how do we adapt our systems and organizational practices to use these new features? Finally how can we work together, across organizational boundaries, to move all of our organizations toward better delivery of our educational missions?

This ½ day un-conference may not be for everybody, especially those who expect, or require, a tightly structured, carefully controlled event. During our gathering we will enter into Open Space, without a prepared agenda or clear-cut knowledge as to where we will end up. We only know the theme, who is coming, and what they are interested in. Be prepared to be surprised, and to learn.

  • Howard,

I think this is a challenge that a whole bunch of organizations are facing. I know that this is often a challenge for us at BAM. Howard, your idea of participants bringing their own order forms with them will be a great tool for making these conversation more concrete and productive. I hope all of the groups attending will take a moment to grab your order form(s) and bring them with you.

During our gathering next week, we will be breaking out into multiple sessions. What other area do folks have a passion to discuss. Either because you have a solution you would like to share, or because you just have a question you want answered?

If you are inclined to share those ideas here that would be great! Thanks, Howard for getting us started.

When we get into conference next week, everyone will be offered an oppertunity to open a conversation related to our theme. Please start to think about the learning you would like to get from, or the insights you would like to share with our gathering.

For anyone who will be attending the unConference on Wednesday,

Would you consider bringing some examples of your Order pages?

For educational programs at Liberty Science Center, we've found we've had to capture and track various data elements that Tessitura wasn't designed to manage. Solved the problem by pressing some existing fields into service for alternative purposes.

Would be interested to know if other faced the same thing, and what solutions you've found. Always interested in knowing if there's a better way to build a mouse-trap.

    Thanks,
