Marketing Department has proposed using the integration. I am looking to see if other Tess users are using this function. What are the benefits and drawbacks. it looks like it would create a fair number if duplicates.
That has been my concern as well which is why we have not used the integration yet. When they presented it the first time (months ago) I expressed several concerns including this one so I am not sure if they fixed all those or if they are still potentially problematic.
I also told them it was a huge problem when they showed me the product -that it would lead to creating many duplicates, as well as a fair number of fake email addresses on existing accounts (thereby increasing our WordFly costs as they charge for number of email addesses in the database); unless we (meaning Signature) didn't come up with and implement a custom procedure to either prevent it or manage the deletion of these accounts and email addresses after the transaction. I told them we much preferred the way TodayTix did the integration and were very happy with how it worked. I then declined to use the Goldstar integration unless these issues were fixed (and even then I didn't make any promises). We have significantly pulled back on the inventory we send to Goldstar (and had before this anyway).

You should be able to create an attribute that holds the Goldstar patron number, which then could be used for subsequent transactions.

We are going to begin testing the integration in the next month. I think it has some nice benefits for customers in a small way, if it works.

Did Mt. Vernon end up following through on this integration? If so any thoughts after using it? Ford's has been looking at this since TLCC and this thread just popped up in my email again when I was looking for the integration instructions.
