Hi DFW users -
Printed on the back of all of our tickets (and our website) it states:
Ticket resold may be voided without compensation.
We have noticed a surge in ticket broker sales on various websites, which I suppose has always been happening but is only recently becoming a larger issue for us.
I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed this recently and what polices and procedures you have in place for enforcing these. I'm also very interested in some sort of process where when one organization identifies a ticket broker, they can notify others and take action accordingly.
Any insight is greatly appreciated!
Hi Kent,
Within the consortium we've done a modification to the constituent header to indicate this. If a research note is added to a patron account using a specific research note type, the background of the entire header is turned red. A very obvious and visible indicator to the box office operator.
Any organization in the consortium can add the research note and it is then visible to everyone.
Trading lists of known ticket brokers is an interesting idea, but a bit outside of my pay grade. I think it's a great idea though and I'd be happy to work with your technical folks to make it happen if the powers that be give the go ahead.

Kent,
The Center developed a policy where we will not sell to known brokers. The constituent header that Levi refers to assists our phone agents in quickly identifying brokers so they can inform them of our policy.
To determine who is a broker, in addition to scouring the brokers sites for our inventory being resold and marking those accounts, we also use iovation as a means to block brokers. Here is a link regarding our use of their service.

Hey All - shameless plug for a session at TLCC2014. If you can't make it to the session, the materials will be posted after the conference - the info might prove helpful.
