Everyone,
We have secured a date and location for our DFW Tessitura User Group Mini-Conference!!! This will be a one day event held on April 8th, 2014 at Charles W. Eisemann Center for Performing Arts in Richardson, TX. Thank you Gary Garcia and Sarah Nesbit for offering to host and securing a date for us.
Now the fun begins.....planning! We'd like to find out who is interested in helping to plan and organize this Mini-Conference. We need to create a planning committee and that committee will be responsible for creating the sessions and finding presenters. We would love to have as many organizations as possible represented on the planning committee. If you are interested in helping with the planning, please email me at teresa.dean@attpac.org.
We would also like to hear some ideas on what sessions or topics you would like to see at the Mini-Conference. Everyone is invited to email your the ideas directly to me and I will put them together and post them on the site for everyone to see. Once we have a planning committee formed, we will ask for votes on the sessions (if we have too many to cover in one day!) to make final decisions on what sessions will be offered.
Please be sure to watch the DFW Tessitura User Group site for updates on the Mini-Conference. There is sure to be more information soon and often as the planning process begins. Now, send in your ideas and sign up for the planning committee!!!
Have a great week everyone!!!!
Teresa
Thanks for the update on the DFW Tessitura User Group Mini-Conference. We are canvassing our colleagues at the Kimbell to see what topics would be of interest. With next year's "mega" conference being held in the DFW metroplex, we may want to plan how we can support the conference and showcase our venues. We hope as many conference attendees as possible can experience our local treasures, including the new Renzo Piano Pavilion at the Kimbell Art Museum, opening on 27 November 2013.
We need to start the planning process for our DFW area Mini-Conference very soon. I realize everyone is getting geared up for the holidays and time is limited, so the major work won't start until after the first of the year. What we need right now though, is to hear from anyone who is interested in participating in the planning process who hasn't already contacted me. I've only heard from a very small handful of people and we could really use more help. If you would like to participate on the planning committee, please let me know as soon as possible. I'd like to work on scheduling some phone calls to start working on things.
For those who can't commit the time to be on the planning committee, you can still help out by sending in your suggestions for sessions you'd like to see at the Mini-Conference. We will also need presenters and discussion moderators, so if you're interested in helping in any capacity, please let us know and we'll add you to the list.
Thanks to everyone for your help and excitement about the DFW area Mini-Conference....pass the word around in your organizations to help build the excitement!!!
Thanks Teresa,
It is exciting to see this Mini-Conference come together. I am planning on being in Dallas the week of this mini-conference in April. If there is time in the schedule, I would be happy to give an update on TLCC2014 and other Network programs. I hope to see many folks from the Dallas/Fort Worth members. I would expect a few other Dallas based TN Staffers to join me for the mini-conference. Keep up the great work.
Don
