Hi all!
OC is looking at doing some increased cultivation with our patrons on their birthdays. We know we can track birthday information as an Attribute, however we are trying to find the best way to collect this information and are hitting some roadblocks. We were hoping TNEW Account Details would be an option or even a Cart Checkout form but neither are equipped to get us the information in an orderly way.
Does anyone have experience collecting this information and would be willing to share? Any workarounds you use?

Hi Vee,What email client do you use? It may be possible to set up an automated email to ask a patron to fill out a web form when they create an account that tags their account interests and other data that they are willing to share. I know Wordfly has a method of automatically updating interests if you've set it up with your implementation.The Cart checkout survey is also a possibility. We use that to collect a variety of information and have created a custom SQL procedure to update a patron's account based on these survey results. It's not out-of-the-box, but it may be a solution for you.
We collect birth dates in the Attributes tab when we register students. But, that's not automatic. One of our reps has to request that information.
Thanks, Andrew! We use Prospect2 for our email client. I was looking at the Cart Checkout Survey and was running into the problem of the 'field type' not being a date format option. So we could open that up with instructions on preferred format, but definitely are trying to avoid the user error as much as we can on the patron end.
