Tessitura's Charitable Tax Receipt functionality overview - Sept 2022

This is a copy of the power point that Meaghan presented at the September 2022 community meeting. Please note that all items are still in development, and therefore subject to change. If you have any questions, please email product@tessituranetwork.com.

  • Hi ! I'm working on the current sample template to better expose the advantage of a cash gift.

I have the creation of an in-kind sample template on my list, but it won't be included in the beta. That said, the current sample is configured to access all the in-kind fields from contribution entry, as well as the contribution notes and custom contribution fields.

  • Hello, Will you also be working on an in-kind tax receipt template? Not too sure though where the info needed to produce those would be stored in Tessitura... same question for Cash Gift with Advantage?

  • No apology needed! Better to make sure I haven't missed anything.

The dollar amounts is one piece of the template we are still playing with. My goal is to support a breakdown of gift amount, non-deductible amount and eligible amount per transaction, as well as a total eligible amount for the whole receipt. That said, the samples we provide are merely a starting place for all of you. You will be able to customize the layout and some of the content to create a receipt that meets both CRA requirements and your business needs. In other words, if you want the location to appear somewhere else, and you prefer to display the total eligible amount in multiple locations, you can absolutely do that.

HTML templates natively accommodate the inclusion of images, so adding an image of the relevant signature will not be an issue.

    Thank you!

  • Hi, sorry, I missed the Location issued part on your sample.  I believe the amount must be there twice as per CRA's sample. Amount of gift line and a Eligible amount of gift line (which basically is a repeat). We would also embed the photo of the signatory.

  • Thank you, ! The two fields you circled below are included in the sample I shared, but since you had trouble finding the info, I'll take another pass on that template and see if I can't make them more visible. As I mentioned, these are just samples that we're still working on, so I very much appreciate the feedback. Keep it coming!
