I’m excited to announce that we are ready to move forward with the first phase of beta testing of our new Charitable Tax Receipt functionality. Thank you to everyone for their input so far. It has been invaluable.
In our next v16 release (16.0.4) we will have the following functionality available to our beta testers:
a new maintenance tool to support the generation, local storage and email deployment of tax receipts
a new dedicated page on the constituent record where you can view all the tax receipts issued to a donor
sample HTML templates for the tax receipt email body and secure PDF attachment
From all of the research and feedback so far, we know that these features are the foundation of the Charitable Tax Receipt functionality, and it’s critical that we get this part right before we move on to further functionality. Once our beta testers have said we are good to go, then we will move onto phase two in early 2023.
I’ll continue to keep you updated through the community group meetings and other channels as we go through and complete each testing phase. We are committed to ensuring this feature is right from day one, so I really appreciate your time and patience.
If you’d like to explore the beta features so far, they will be available in the v16 Sandbox in early 2023, so do please send me any feedback you have.

Hello everyone and Happy New Year!
I wanted to post an update to let you all know that the sandbox has been updated to v16.0.4, which means the phase 1 beta functionality for Charitable Tax Receipts is available for you to see, even if you don't have a database of your own that is running v16.
I've gone ahead and created one sample tax organization, one sample receipt generation set, and one sample receipt record (on constituent #32 - Judy Bowman) so you can see the basics. Keep in mind that users are are unable to process transactions in the Sandbox, so if you decide to try creating new tax receipts, please only create one or two so we don't end up receipting all the gifts in the sandbox. I've attached the testing guide that was provided to the beta testers that includes details about what is and is not included in v16.0.4, as well as links to the new documentation for the phase 1 beta functionality.
