Do you use Plans? (and NOT for fundraising)

HI All!

I am starting to really integrate a LOT of departments here at the museum in to using Tess. They really want to harness the CRM portion of Tessitura. And why the heck not. We already pay for it, why not make it do all the fun stuff.

So a lot will be revolved around recording of correspondence. I am torn between CSI's and Plans. I am leaning towards plans as the functionality will be enhancing in V16 slightly.

Just wondering if anyone else is using Plans in a non-fundraising way, and would like to share their experience?

  • HI Jen, CSIs are also changing in v16. They are becoming Steps. During the upgrade, existing reminders and actions are migrated to steps. The upgrade automatically creates one new step type for each general task type, CSI task type, and CSI action type in your system (setting the new step type description to the same value as the old task/action type description) and then uses those step types when the reminders and actions are migrated to steps. In v16, they look pretty similar in how they're displayed and entered but Plans need to be attached to a Plan and Constituent Steps need to be attached the Step Type. I thought a little extra info on what's happing to CIs might help your decision process between the two. You might want to take a look at them in Sandbox.Let me know if you have further questions.

    Thanks,

    Jessica

  • That's a great thought Jessica.

I have been playing around in V16 for a bit. I am just so on the fence. (I am in LOVE with the new Tess on the Go functionality)

Plans to me seem like a great place for more long term "conversations/interactions" with people. But with the changes to CSI's I am completely at a loss. My apprehension is training someone to use plans as CSI's don't really fit the bill now, and then switching after we upgrade.
