How are you all doing and dealing with COVID-19?

Hello fellow Canadians,

Hope you are all doing well!  Wanted to start a little forum/discussion post about how we are all doing and dealing with COVID-19.  Either personally, or as an institution.

Lots of the talk we see seems to be very US focused, and although lots applies, some of it doesn't.  So I thought it might be good to have a little space for us to connect on the topic.

    Great idea.

We at Massey Hall and Roy Thomson Hall have been working from home since the week of March 16. We began rolling out show postponements that week and continue re-schedule our spring concerts to the fall. We closed our ticket line, initially fielding any refund requests via our "contact us" email but have since rolled out the TNEW return request feature with good success! I'm also working on a soft roll out for selling accessible seating online for those optimists out there who are buying tickets for our fall concerts.

My colleagues in Marketing, etc. are working on initiatives like promoting of digital content. For example, we have an archive of over 45 Live at Massey Hall performances (https://www.masseyhall.com/live-at-massey-hall/)

Like all other construction projects in Ontario the Massey Hall revitalization work was suspended when the province imposed further restriction to the list of essential services.

I'll spread the word on this user group with my colleagues here. I wonder if there's an effective way to get the word out about the group to all the Canadian users on the network.

  • Hi Wes!  I can send an email to the SOTUG group to encourage them to join the Canada group as well. If there are other local Canadian TUG groups, perhaps we could send messages to each one and ask their members to make sure they're in too. That's probably a good start for increasing membership of this group.
