Hi,
We're having more and more community groups use our venue and they like to have us consign tickets to their group so they can sell directly. I was wondering if there are any other organisations out there who facilitate this and then have procedures in place to ensure the groups are selling the tickets at the correct price, only sell what they have been given and then don't continue selling on the day or night of the event?
Many thanks,
Courtney
Hi Courtney,
An option I remember hearing about at TLCC last year was: When a community or other third party group wanted tickets, a block of inventory was allocated to them. They were then allocated a specific source code to share with their group members, who would then book the tickets themselves, and they could only access the seats in their allocation.
That way, you can control the amount of tickets they have access to, the location of those seats in the theatre, and you ensure they are paying the correct price. Alternatively, perhaps you could implement a Letter of Agreement with each community group you consign tickets to? That way you could state how these tickets should be used, and have an option to have explore some sort of recompense if you find out the tickets were used incorrectly?Best of luck, either way!
