Hey to all the women in tech! I am currently interviewing for some open positions on my team and have an observation from my very small sample size. After the first round, as I send out next steps, I have received some requests for feedback to people who were declined. Interestingly, the only people asking for feedback so far are the men. (The pool is skewed towards more women, too). I'm going to review notes and provide feedback to them. My call out to you all - Ask for feedback if you're in this situation!!!!
Ooo-- what positions are you filling, Bobbi?
What go-getters. :) Did anyone sent thank you notes? And does that skew based on gender?
Hey Shelly - the Member Engagement team has 2 positions open: Community Manager, EU and Sr. Events Manager. The posting for the Community Manager has closed and we are in the interview process for it already.
For legality reasons, it's not highly specific feedback, but I am able to mention the type of experience successful candidates had. For example, "We selected candidates with more experience in ______". Some of them have asked for ways to grow their knowledge and expertise so I have shared professional organizations and communities they can join to grow in the roles.
Good question. I have had many thank you notes, but there hasn't been a trend one way or the other as far as gender.
