An Update from your POC Tessitura Community Co-Chairs

Hey, all.

I hope everyone is doing well. It’s been some time since you heard from us, and we wanted to update you all.

Early 2023 has been busy and exciting for both Mercedes and me. Both of us are transitioning to new art organizations. I am the new Senior Membership Manager at New York City Center. Previously, I was the Patron Services and Membership Manager in Atlanta, GA. Mercedes is the Manager of Individual Giving at the Dallas Theater Center and will soon be their new Digital Fundraising Coordinator at KERA.

Both of us are thrilled about our new ventures, but we want to apologize for neglecting this space for the past few weeks. Moving forward, we hope to re-establish a healthy cadence of posts, updates, and news relevant to this community.

March is Women’s History Month in the United States, the UK, and Australia. It recognizes the critical contributions of women throughout history and in contemporary society and centers around International Women’s Day on March 8. In this community, we would like to, in particular, highlight Women of Color this month. Stay tuned for posts noting incredible Women of Color and how they shaped and changed history.

Lastly, before we go, here are a couple of Tessitura-related updates.

DEAI Learning Series: How Community-Centric Fundraising made me a better fundraiser

I want to highlight the next DEAI Learning Series event this Wednesday, March 8, at noon (EST) - How community-centric fundraising made me a better fundraiser, with Carlos Garcia Leon (Chicago Shakespeare Theatre). This event is open to the public, so please feel free to spread the word.

TLCC Orlando; Call for Presenters

Encourage your colleagues to submit a session proposal for TLCC Orlando. Our call for presenters is open now through April 11. If you know anyone doing great work in the community, encourage them to submit.

Again, thank you all for your patience and understanding. Mercedes and I look forward to reinvigorating this community.

Best,

Corey
