A question that just came up in tonight's EDI committee meeting was around how best to give patrons access to defining their pronouns.
The proposed solution on the table is a three-item dropdown menu with He, She, They as the options.
Someone else suggested an open text field, so as not to limit self-expression.
I steered the conversation away from using "Other," as there is more than enough othering we deal with on a regular basis.
How does your organization capture gender expression in Tessitura?

I'm interested in hearing what other organizations are doing as well.
We are currently using a three-item dropdown menu as described in Michael's post. My initial hesitation with switching to an open text field was that it would be difficult to keep consistent...but I'm now wondering if that is actually the better option.
