What is Career Accelerator?

The Career Accelerator is aimed at people who are in the early stages of a career on the business side of arts and culture, and from cultural backgrounds which are less likely to be represented in many of our institutions and organisations. These may be recent graduates or those in the early stages of their career, creatives transitioning to arts administration or those wanting to move into the industry. They may be people who already have an affiliation with a Tessitura organisation, but we are just as eager to broaden the pool beyond those already in our circle.

Career Accelerator Australia and Aotearoa

In 2021 Tessitura established a Career Accelerator program with a long-term goal of increasing cultural diversity in the arts and culture workforce. There have now been four cohorts and over 100 individuals complete the program. It has been a goal to bring the program to Australia and Aotearoa, in a way that is meaningful and relevant for our region, so I'm excited to see that applications have opened for the September 2023 regional intake. The program is run virtually and structured over an 11-week period that includes five cohort mentoring/discussion sessions, three guest speaker presentations and registration the Tessitura Learning and Community Conference, - for Australia and Aotearoa that's Melbourne 2-3 November. It is free of charge (though unfortunately they can’t cover TLCC travel costs). Over the course of the 11 weeks, participants also take part in either Tessitura Fundraising Fundamentals or Tessitura Ticketing Fundamentals. Practical Tessitura skills can be a real foot-in-the-door for employment .
