Australia Council Arts and mental wellbeing panel this Friday 25 March

Hi folks,

For all you Australians, this Friday 25 March 2022 11.00am–12.30pm AEDT there is a Panel Discussion hosted by the Australia Council on opportunities to embed arts and creativity in government policy responses to support mental health and wellbeing.

If you are in Melbourne and want to attend in person it will be at Hanson Dyer Hall. If you are like me and want to attend online, you can register here. https://australiacouncil.gov.au/advocacy-and-research/events/arts-and-mental-wellbeing-policy-development-program/

Here is the info:

At this event, we will address the question: What would it take to ensure that all Australians are living a fully contributing life – not only surviving, but thriving?

This panel is part of a bigger program of work with a strategic and practical approach focusing on opportunities to embed arts and creativity in government policy responses to support mental health and wellbeing.

The learnings from this panel will help inform one or more policy proposals to be presented to government later in the year.

Our panellists will be:

Professor Jill Bennett, Founding Director of The Big Anxiety Research Centre and of The Big Anxiety festival
Rachel Green, CEO of SANE Australia
Janine Mohamed, CEO of the Lowitja Institute
Jeremy Thorpe, Chief Economist at PwC and Board Member at Flourish Australia.

They are also building a resource page the growing body of evidence and case studies related to arts and mental wellbeing including the Arts and Wellbeing Forum from last November.

See some of you there,

Heath
