Haia all

Hope you're all peachy!

We're looking to improve efficiencies in our Development team and just wondered if anyone has done any integration work with Goodbox on importing donations in to Tessitura? We currently import these monthly for each site and would love to be able to speed this up. I was thinking there is maybe something in the contribution import that could be utilised but would love to hear if anyone has any brain waves!

Schools Data Import - UK Organisations

Hi all,

Has anyone managed a data import from the UK Government's schools database (used to be known as Edubase)? Here's the link: Get information about schools - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

We'd like to start importing this data on an annual basis to help our reporting around which schools visit us over at the Gallery, and were wondering if anyone has managed this process before, or has a procedure for a recurring annual import of this data? I'm particularly interested to know how the process around attributes/attribute values works, as well as how to handle affiliations. Would love to chat to anyone that's managed this before or has any advice.

If it helps, we're a Tessitura-hosted organisation running TNEW. We currently collect some information from schools that book via a web form, which gets converted into a CSI on the school's, but would love to keep what we ask here to questions directly relevant to the booking itself, rather than school demographics.

Joint membership management

Hello!

I hope everyone is well.

I'm looking for some advice around managing joint memberships. Currently, our joint membership level sits on a household constituent. For in person/phone sign ups, the membership is transacted on a household with an A1/A2 member. For online sign ups, the second member details are collected via a custom form on TNEW and our Friends admin team use these to create the second individual and then convert to a household. We switched from Raisers Edge to Tessitura in 2017 and I think(?) this structure is a legacy from then.

We've had various, frustrating issues with households e.g. ineligible gift aid claims and members unable to access their benefits when logging into their individual online account (gift aid declarations with no initiator/web logins sitting on the household).

We'd also like to make the most of v16 membership benefits (we currently use a ranking / mode of sale shift to unlock free entry/discounted tickets for members). From my understanding, membership benefits won't work if we have members logging into accounts connected to a household membership?

Is there anyone with a joint membership level that would be happy to share how they manage this, whether via households or a 'lead' individual with affiliations (or some magical alternative)?

Firstly, I wanted to give a huge welcome to my new co-chair Matt Thorely from Tate Gallery.

Myself and Matt and really looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible in Newcastle next week.

We have scheduled an EU Museums & Attractions Tessitura Community meetup on Wednesday 6 March, 14:30 - 15:30 in room: C2

This will be a great opportunity to share future roadmap plans that you’re working on (not just within V16!), that will not only inspire others but also gain insightful thoughts and feedback from the group in any areas you wish to discuss.

I will be kicking off the session with updates from The National Gallery and hope many of you who can attend will also be able to share your stories.

Hello lovely community members!

Just signed off from the meetup and thought I would follow up with a quick post including the summary notes for reference. Some great discussions today and really good updates from lots of people in the community. Feeling very jealous I will miss out on all the fun at TLCC, but as I announced to the group I am now scheduled to deliver my baby on 4th March! So hopefully by the time the conference opens there will be a mini me in this world. Fingers crossed.

As I said in the meeting, my wonderful co-chair Jon Haworth will hopefully be back at his desk very soon and I'm sure he will touch base with you all to catch up. We are also gladly joined by the powerhouse that is Frances Cravenfrom the National Gallery as a third co-chair. Frances will be hosting the in person community session at TLCC Gateshead so if you haven't met her already, you very soon will.

All the best for the year ahead! I will be fairly quiet on the boards for a the next little while as I'll be off on Mat leave until Jan 2025. In my absence if there is anything that you would normally have come to me with as a representative of Royal Collection Trust, my colleague Ellen McCann will be the senior technical lead and the point person on all things Tessitura in my absence. I'm sure she would love to hear from you too.

Pay what you can

Hope you're well! (Cross posting in a few groups so sorry if you get this multiple times..!)

We're looking at offering pay what you can for one of our exhibitions coming up, and I wondered if anyone was able to share their average amounts given if you've also done something similar in the past? We have some data from our Events programme but this is quite minimal and my hunch is that the average for an exhibition is not the same as a one off event (Although I'm happy to be proved wrong!). It would also be great to know how you presented this on the purchase path, eg with different options at different price points or a free type field for people to input their amount?

All thoughts very welcome!

Hello all,

It was a delight to see those of you who could make it in person for our meeting this week at Tate Modern. We were lucky enough to participate in a fantastic workshop with the Product Team on innovation in Tessitura for Museums and Attractions-- a lot of exciting stuff in the works for the future roadmap. I am personally feeling really encouraged to see so many of the features we have all discussed over the years being reflected back to us from the product team. Can't wait to see the end results!

We also had a good discussion around innovation in general in the second part of the session, and had a lot of thought-provoking contributions from the group. Thanks very much for your participation.

As agreed, our next meeting will be a virtual Lean Coffee Table meet up on 1 February at 4PM.

Hello all,

Just a quick hello from Jon and I to say we're looking forward to see you all next week!

Our June meeting will be another interesting Peer to Peer presentation style meeting and this one is all about Customisations! We all love the fact that you can take Tessitura to so many new and exciting places and make it do lots of weird and wonderful things-- we want to hear from our community about your favourite customisations that you've managed to pull off and why you love them.

Bonus points if the customisation is something that could be useful for others to consider using at their organisation. Just a reminder that it doesn't have to be something huge for it to be something impactful, so if you've got something you love, why not volunteer to speak at this meeting? Even if it's just one custom report that does the work of three others, we'd be happy to have you share why it works for you with the group. We are looking for volunteers who could speak for 5-10 minutes about something custom their org has done that has really helped your museum and attraction so far. Jon and I will each be speaking for a few minutes about our favourite customisations at Tate and RCT respectively, and we'll confirm other speakers closer to the time.

If you are willing to present please do comment below, and Jon and I will be delighted to discuss further. So far we have Jon and I and our wonderful community member Grant Crozier willing to speak. Any other takers?

Country House Membership Upsell

Morning!

We're currently trying to fine tune our follow up visitor emails for customers who have visited one of our sites to attempt to convert them to members. Just wanted to get some feedback on what people have found to be the best practices? Is it better to send the email the same day? Does adding an offer on top (Free coffee in the café) make a difference or is it better to just go for the membership?

Any feedback and advice would be very much appreciated.

Google Tag Manager Conversion Tracking for Direct Debits

I've re-posted this from the main marketing community forum.

We've recently launched our membership journeys on TNEW.

We use our Google Tag Manager container to track conversions to then send the data to third party partners for tracking purposes. This works fine for credit card transactions as there is an "Order" datalayer push event when an order has been created. This means the conversion data (e.g. product ID, quantity, total price etc) can be passed through our GTM container to our Google Analytics and 3rd party partners.

The issue we have is around direct debits.It looks like our setup is pretty bespoke, but there is no datalayer push event that is created when the customer successfully sets up a direct debit for their membership. As a result, we cannot collect the data through GTM and pass it through to Google Analytics and our partners. Does anyone else have this issue and have you managed to find a workable solution to capture the conversion data?

Gift aid within the UK

Hi,

The centre I work at is currently relooking at Gift aid and how we claim it on memberships and how we attach benefits to memberships to ensure we are within HMRC guidance within the UK.

After lots of research into this, it is still not 100% crystal clear so I'm hoping that someone might be able to give me some pointers on how your own organisation offers discounts and benefits to members within Tessitura and how you ensure that these benefits and discounts don't exceed the original amount gifted.

I would love to get some feed back on this so we can look at how we can use tessitura to supply added benefits to members who want to gift aid to us.

Hello everyone, thank you so much for coming along to our session today - an amazing turnout and we had a great time! Thanks especially to Jenna, Ellen, Grae and Carlo for their presentations. Some real inspiration there and I expect by now we've all added logos to our dashboards as well 😃
