I'd recommend opening a help ticket up and our consulting services team can help with that. Since these boards are public and can go stale pretty quickly, we're trying to help people out with recommended practices and potentially connecting members via tickets.

We're currently looking at moving our boutique into the modern era with an online storefront and some real inventory management. I'm interested in hearing your words of wisdom on either of these integration partners - has it worked for you? What isn't working well? How was the ramp up on your shop manager?

Our museum shop is in the process of moving from TAM to Shopify and contacted me after they'd already started their move to talk about the Tessitura integration. Here's hoping it ends up being the best for what we all need. :-) I have put in a help ticket to get the consulting work done for the integration, but I'd like to know a little more about just what the integration does and I can't find it online. Is anyone using it already? It is my understanding that our in-store staff will be able to pull up constituent records and member discounts will automatically apply (Huzzah!), but what about the other way? If the shop sells a membership, will that track back into Tessitura? If so, will it process as a product rather than a contribution? I'm sure I'll find out more once we get the process moving, but I'm trying to gather some info for both our shop and development teams in advance. Am I correct in seeing that the online Shopify portal will NOT connect to Tessitura? I'm less concerned about members here, as they are used to inputting a promo code for their discount, but I'm curious about new constituents. I'm guessing these would have to be input using the constituent import utility periodically if the online POS doesn't talk to Tessitura. Any insight anyone who has already gone down this path would be much appreciated.

Hi Anne -

It's always fun when you get surprises like that! I'm attaching the one-sheet although I don't think it will provide you the specific answers you are looking for, so I'll go ahead and answer them here as well.

First, the integration is currently a single way look up, it does not create or push membership information from Shopify. It's definitely something that people have had interest in, and on my list of possible feature set enhancements if we get enough traction on it. It is also, at this time, retail only and not online. Something like the constituent import utility (or the contribution import utility) would be a great path to explore for any new constituents created via Shopify online.

Our integration currently offers the following points of functionality:

Customer record lookup to record purchase history to existing Tessitura accounts and to validate and apply any percentage and specific dollar amount discounts that customer is eligible for.
Tessitura gift certificate validation and redemption
POS purchase history data passed and housed in Tessitura

Hi Michele -

You are getting a sneak peek at the latest info, we're just putting the finishing touches on an announcement that will confirm SalesVu has an online component. This is newly launching for them, and I believe there is no one yet who has been implemented with both the online and retail side of things. Everyone who had started a retail launch at the beginning of this year has put things on hold a bit, so I don't have anyone to point you to at this time, but SalesVu may have some people. If you are already talking to them, I'd probably go down that route first!

Heather - we're at the VERY beginning stages of replacing our ancient retail/cafe POS system and from the limited info available SalesVu is looking like it might be our best option, but reading that there's no online integration is disappointing. Is this still the case? Can you provide our team with some connections for those who have implemented? Thanks!

Hi Maery,

I have also been tasked to look into options for selling some of our Gift Shop items online. I would love to chat with you to compare notes. We currently use Toast for our Food and Beverage and Gift Shop POS, and Market Manager for gift shop inventory. We do not have a online presence for our Gift Shop and are now looking to do just that.

I know you're on Prospect2 so I am not trying to sell you anything :) I saw your inquiry above. I just wanted to let you know that Prospect2 integrates with the online version of Shopify - Its a deep data integration. Order data and marketing opt-ins flow into Prospect2 where you can handle List Subscribe, Automation triggers, and even abandoned product all drag and drop. It really slick.

I'm happy to connect you with a couple of people who have chosen to move forward with SalesVu or Shopify. I do want to clarify that the integration currently is only retail POS right now and not online. It has been on the roadmap but requires an investment in outside development which is currently not slated for 2020, but potentially 2021. This is all to say that this before COVID-19 hit, and we're exploring all options at this point.
