What's your title?

My current title is "CRM Administrator." I'm our Tessitura DB, essentially. I have some SQL knowledge, but I'm not writing custom reports or stored procedures. But I do all FY and performance builds; I am responsible for TNEW content; I'm currently the only one building analytics dashboards; I do all training and onboarding; I maintain documentation of our system policies and procedures. My boss has never liked my title and thinks it should be Database Manager. I'm curious -- if your job sounds like mine, what is your title?

Transaction vs Contribution Date Criteria

We are currently in v15 of Tessitura, and I'm looking to build some dynamic lists for automated emails based off of the date that a contribution was entered into the system, not the date it was given.

For example, if someone gives a gift via website on a Saturday, the funds are put On-Account and I process it Monday morning. The contribution date is set for Saturday, but I need the list to pull based on the date it was entered, Monday. Currently, I cannot find a criteria set that will help me get this. Does anyone have any fixes they've used or a custom set they've built?

Executable File Change Alert???

So this has been happening at least once a week for the last month or so, where I'll get a support ticket opened from RAMP saying "Tessitura Alert: Executable File Change." And because its addressed to the RAMP automation and hello@, I am in this constant loop of never ending "junk" emails (where it'll kick in blank auto-replies from ramp and hello@). Every once in a while with it I'll get a real response from a support tech asking if I made the change. I tell them no, they close the ticket (which sets off the annoying loop again), and then I'm good for about another week and then the same alert comes up (brand new ticket with new ticket number).

I have asked my Support/Extended Services Liaison about it and she thinks its just a v16 defect. I've checked the defect notes and nothing seems to be listed.

Does anyone else have this issue?!

Partial View Seats After On-Sale?

Hi all,

For the Virginia Theatre Festival this year, we will be using a facility that we have already created BUT have the possibility that certain seats will be partial view that have not been partial view in the past, due to how the set is built. Of course, we will not know this until after the set is built, which will be several weeks after tickets go on-sale. Have any of you dealt with the predicament before? If so, how do you handle it? From what I know, seat type (partial view) is a seat type which is handled at the facility level, meaning it cannot be changed after tickets have been sold in that facility (I think). Or can the seat type be changed/updated if none have been sold using the Facility Updates utility? If they cannot be changed once on-sale, we could separate these tickets in their own zone and put them on hold until the view is confirmed, but I still do not think that handles marking them as partial view, unless there was a work around to alert customers of this through a pricing rule message, etc. Would love to hear some solutions you all have employed! Thank you in advance for your help!

Schools Data Import - UK Organisations

Hi all,

Has anyone managed a data import from the UK Government's schools database (used to be known as Edubase)? Here's the link: Get information about schools - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

We'd like to start importing this data on an annual basis to help our reporting around which schools visit us over at the Gallery, and were wondering if anyone has managed this process before, or has a procedure for a recurring annual import of this data? I'm particularly interested to know how the process around attributes/attribute values works, as well as how to handle affiliations. Would love to chat to anyone that's managed this before or has any advice.

If it helps, we're a Tessitura-hosted organisation running TNEW. We currently collect some information from schools that book via a web form, which gets converted into a CSI on the school's, but would love to keep what we ask here to questions directly relevant to the booking itself, rather than school demographics.

TLCC presentation

If anyone uses SCC (git or another SCC product) and would be interested co-presenting at TLCC I'd be interested in possibly teaming up. I've been using SCC for tessitura database for about 2 1/2 years. It's been very useful in tracking and staging testing environment and feature requests. It's been particularly useful for testing migration in v16, and has made my life easier.

Using built-in scc or a visual studio SSDT project with hosted environments doesn't seem doable. So I've been doing it manually, which hasn't been a big impediment as long as I remain consistent in where I pull DDL from.

Any HTML Template whizzes in this group?

We have a section of our confirmation email that shows which student (recipient) is registered for each class. For some reason it is returning the same student for every class registered in the order. So, if siblings are registered in the same order it is showing that it all belongs to one of them. The recipient is correct in the order, just an issue of the confirmation email showing the wrong name. I must have missed testing this scenario when we were implementing this.

Any of you able to spot what might be causing the problem? I've highlighted the bit that is displaying the wrong name.

v16 - Can't Find "On Account" Balances on Constituent Records

Does anyone know of a way to find the "On Account" balances of certain Constituents from the Constituents screen?

In v15, the money bag used to pop up on their record, but it doesn't in v16.

User's Tessitura is Giving "Invalid Credentials" for all Logins

Hello all,

I have a user who has Tessitura production on their machine. They were receiving errors on their end, so I removed and reinstalled Tessitura on their machine. Upon testing within their machine, all logins are giving "invalid credentials" error upon logging in. I have verified this error with my own login, which worked on my machine before and after testing on the users machine. Has anyone experienced this before?

date filter on tessitura.com searching

I know a complaint of mine for ages has been that when I do a search on tessitura.com, a lot of really old (10, or even 15 year old) results pop up. But today... I see a date filter! Has anyone else noticed this, or just me?
(also, we're looking at our group sales processes, so if you have things you wish you did/didn't do for yours, feel free to pass along ;-) )

Group ticket headers in v16

I'm still testing V16 (1 year and 9 months later...). I realized that our VS department hasn't been using the group ticket headers we have set up in v15, but before I get them back in the habit I wanted to test it in v16. But there isn't a Group Entry Mode in v16's Access Control. Does anyone still use this functionality somehow? The documentation wasn't terribly helpful.

HTML Acknowledgment Template - Pulling Constituent Recognition Names/Custom Attributes

Hi All,

I'm looking to create a new HTML Template for gift acknowledgments and have it mostly written up but I could use some help.

We would like to include the recognition name for the customer in the email but I cant find an @Model option that can be used for this.

We recently transferred from RE to Tess so currently out recognitions are housed in the attributes areas its specifically called Credit Listing/Luncheon. Does anyone have any idea how I might be able to pull this information automatically into an HTML Template? If there is anywhere else people might think that I can cross post this please let me know.

Removing a special activity from a list of constituents

For some reason, the utility for managing special activities doesn't have an option to remove the activity altogether from the list. I was trying to do it in SSMS, but I can't find where the connection between lists and the constituents on them lives. Is there a way to join two (or more) tables to remove an activity from just the people on the three lists it was accidentally applied to? We can live with it if not (it's a matter of the regular party being added instead of the VIP party, so we can just add the VIP party and ignore the regular).

Pay It Forward Ticket?

My museum just upped our pricing for children. As a good-will thing (and to hopefully stop the potential pushback), we want to create a "Pay It Forward" option. We offer Free Admission to all on Saturday mornings, and a lot of the time patrons will tell us 'oh we want to donate what would have been admission to the museum anyway.' So we figured this "Pay it Forward" would get supplied by that.

However, I do not know of an easy way of doing this. Originally, I was going to create a Fee with a solid $10 attached (because the kids tickets are now $10) to accept the donation. Then when a family wants/needs to use it, I would create a ticket type in our GA performance labeled "Pay It Forward." That seemed simple enough until I realized we need a way of tracking how many we use, so as to not offer tickets we don't have.

We are currently creating a physical pass (a business card size) to hand to a family, who will then fill out the info requested and hand it back to our Front Desk staff. But I want a way in Tessitura to track as well. I can use a "Ticketing Fee Revenue" report, but is there a better way in real time for my Front Desk staff to know how many of those passes are left?

We recently switched to v16 if that makes a difference.

Strange formatting of my Tessitura screens

Has anyone had this happen? My Tessitura was not opening this morning and after a conversation with Support we were able to get it to open but it looks like this with the blue bar across the bottom:

It is preventing me from seeing what I usually see on a full screen and the size and resolution look different. We ended up un-installing Citrix and re-installing an older version to see if that would solve the problem of access, which it seems to have, but now I have this shrunken screen size and I cannot get it to change. There were suggestions to change the display scaling but that has not changed anything in this appearance.

Has anyone had this happen or have any suggestion as to how to fix it? My very frustrated brain would appreciate it!

Potential Duplicates Procedure not Working (Version 16.0.11)

Hi All,

Has anyone else run into any issues with the potential duplicates procedure not seeming to identify duplicates?

My organization recently updated to 16.0.11 and it looks like something might have broke. I believe the token identification got updated after this update. Looking at the Duplicate Matching setting in the T_DEFAULTS table it looks lie it changed. All of the info I'm seeing in the help document says that its normally set to fname=1, lname=20, postal_code=3, street1=3 but it is currently set to fname=3, lname=20, postal_code=10, street1=10. I didn't make any manual changes to this setting.

My Potential Duplicates list is also empty even though there are definitely duplicates in our database. Is anyone else having this issue? I'm wondering if its a known issues on 16.0.11 or if I'm special for some reason.

How to get a User back into Tessitura Web/On the Go?

I have a staff member who got onto Tessitura Web, but is pretty sure she saved the dual-authentication QR code to something she shouldn't have and now can't find. And since her Citrix one won't work, she can't get back in.

I gave her instructions to use Google Authenticator (we use Chrome as our default internet server), but that only works as a first-time set-up. Since she's already done it once it won't let us add the Google Authenticator.

Is there a way to "delete" her On-The-Go account enough to redo her login? Her username and password are otherwise fine, it's just the dual-authentication that needs to get fixed.

v16 - How do we get our Pop-Up Headers back?

So we had pop-up headers in v15. We switched to v16 about a week ago and the pop-up headers are gone. I checked the documentation and it said they should still exist, so I'm not sure why ours don't work. Is there a setting that got missed in our build out? We'd like those back.

HTML Acknowledgements in v16

I'm in the early stages of working on email acknowledgements in v16 in our Dev environment. Currently, we only send acknowledgements via snail mail, so this is going to be a big improvement but I expect there to be a lot of changes. One thing I'm running into is what to do with people who purchase a membership but who decline their benefits. Since we send letters manually currently it hasn't been an issue -- in those cases a sentence is added to the letter to confirm that benefits were declined. But I don't see a way with the current acknowledgment rules to have the system not fire off the standard letter or to send a different one in this case. Has anyone else worked on this yet? I don't think my dev dept is going to very satisfied if I tell them that everyone has to get the standard email and then they have to follow up with a second with the DB details.

What table replaces TX_CUST_MEMBERSHIP in v16?

I regularly use TX_CUST_MEMBERSHIP in v15 to make some updates that can't be done in the application, but that table has been deprecated in v16 and I can't seem to find what table now holds that data. Does anyone know where it lives in v16? (We're still testing...)

What tables are updated when the Pledge Billing Utility generates an invoice?

Hello,

I have been pulling due pledges through SSMS. The issue with that is that the front end does not get updated. The transactions tab and the contributions detail do not get updated with a "Bill Sent" line.

I would like to continue pulling pledges through SSMS, but I would like for these, and any other tables I may be forgetting, to get updated. Has anyone done something similar? Can you tell me what tables need to be updated when an invoice is generated?

Adding Price Type Category as a group by option on the Attendance by Performance Report

We are looking to add "Price type Category" as a group by option on the Attendance by Performance Report. I'm looking at the code and it's a wee bit complicated for my current level. I'm wondering if anyone has done this or something like this already and would be willing to share their code with me so I can apply it? Or perhaps walk me through how I could do this?
