Postal Codes in Analytics

Hello everyone!

We have a dashboard that shows us top 10 postal codes by ticket count. We always get a huge (none) category. We recently discovered that (none) was 9-digit zip codes. Is there a work around for the (none) zip codes to show up without changing the category?

We switched the dashboard from "Primary address postcode short" to "Primary address postcode." This got rid of the (none) category, but now our data is split up in a way that is not helpful for us. Is there a way to group the postal codes by the first 5 digits?

ALL Unpaid Orders/Unpaid Invoices in One Dashboard?

My Finance Manager and Director of Business Administration are looking for a way to see every dollar that still needs to be paid in Tessitura all at once. Currently to deal with our open invoices they run the Invoice Detail report, and then for all other orders we have a widget where the Order Category shows "Unpaid/Partial Paid" or "Paid in Full."

The problem with the Category thing is if a staff member forgets to flip it to the right level or just doesn't set it at all, we have no idea if those are accurate. Also, some unpaid orders are simply because an event got cancelled and the Line Items never got deleted out of the order (so unpaid is technically correct, but also not correct because the order simply shouldn't exist anymore).

And with the invoice detail, if Finance doesn't know the payment method was used, they might not run the report.

I was poking around in the Finance cube a little to see if there was a way of doing this. What I would like is Constituent Display Name to be the rows, then Unpaid tickets as one Value and Unpaid Invoices as another; with Column being any Performance Notes (such as when an event is cancelled). Is that even possible to do? I did not see a pre-built formula for "Unpaid" anything, so would I have to build something custom?

Calendar Heatmaps- any way to define start month?

Hi all,

I'm working on a dashboard that will show us the frequency that our Hosts are working (to help with training/knowing when people haven't worked for months etc). Not the usual use of Analytics, but the data is there, so why not?!

I've made a heatmap widget for each Host (about 40 with a mix of fulltime/parttime/casual) and it works well, essentially looking at what dates they have each made orders.

However, it's a little tricky to compare them all side by side, as they all start on different months, depending on the first month that they made orders (so are new staff might have February as their first month on the heatmap, but others might have June). Obviously, as it's looking at Order dates, it's producing an accurate heatmap; but I'm just wondering if anyone can think of a formula that might force the heatmap to start at June (even if no orders until Feb etc). (It's probably a no, but thought worth asking the geniuses on here!

Tracking Membership Conversion

Hi there,

We track membership conversion for an exhibition by counting the number of new members who using their membership first visited that specific exhibition. For example if there was an exhibition on Aug 2023, we only count the new members in August who were using their membership for the first time by visiting that exhibition. So, there are two conditions:

1- The membership needs to be new at the time frame we are looking at in the past (or present if we are tracking a live exhibition) and;

2- It needs to be that members' first time using their membership benefits.

I have tried many ways to set this up in a dashboard but have not been successful. Could anybody please point me in the right direction?

Tessitura is looking for people to present on dashboards you've built using the Interactions cube. Anything you are doing with Tessitura to make your day-to-day and season-to-season life easier is guaranteed to interest others. Nothing is too small or too grand to propose.

Proposals may include one to two presenters, either from the same organization or from different organizations. Presenters and panelists selected for community-led sessions will receive a 25% discount on conference registration.

Forecasting - Calendar Date vs Performance Date

So I am trying to do a School group forecast on a dashboard (thanks to support I finally got the forecast to actually run). However, the forecast itself is being really wonky and I don't know why.

Part of the problem is I am asking it to give me 90 days out (I want all of April through June). But what I mean by 90 days is Calendar date, what the forecast is giving me is 90 days as Performance Dates and is basing it on how frequently these particular performances are (which is only Wednesday through Friday). So this forecast is showing me all the way out to September which is what I don't want.

Is there a way to fix that so that the forecast will show calendar year regardless of performances, or am I stuck with it because that what Analytics/Sisense can do?

Number of Performances

Hi all,

I've built a dashboard that uses a dashboard filter of Performance Date and Code, as I want to look at who is booking for a performance.

In this dashboard, is there a way to build a widget that allows me to see the Constituents who have booked for the performance I am looking at, and the total number of other performances they have attended?

I've so far built this as a Pivot, with the Rows as Constituent ID and the Values as Number of unique Performance. It is pulling the correct number of Constituents for the performance I am looking at, however, the unique number of performances only returns 1 for everyone.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I couldn't find the button to show that in my widget - is there anyway to do so?

First Time Buyers for a specific event returning following year

Hi Everyone,

I'm trying to do an analysis of one particular event from 2023 which had 4000 first time buyers attend. I want to know how many of them returned to anything in 2024.

I looked at another post asking a similar question and got some great suggestions from there but when I use this formula:

Count ([Constituent ID], IF(MIN(DDIFF([Days in Date],[Years in First Performance Date]))=0

and ([# of unique Production Season ID], all ( [Production Season])) > 1, MAX ([Constituent ID]), NULL))

my result is always 0 and I'm certain that's incorrect! Any ideas what I'm doing wrong here?

Analytics formula question

Hello everyone,

An issue I would love a solution to is that we have one subscription super pack GDGB that in an Analytics pivot table is showing as two separate packages, GB and GD. All other subs are packages and not super packs. While the revenue is split between these two GB and GD packs, the package seats and unique constituent IDs show duplicate totals for each one. For example, GB shows 60 seats and GD shows 60 seats, but there are only 60 total package seats, not 120. I have attempted to group these two together in a pivot table but am having no luck. Any insight is much appreciated!

"Analyze It" Icon missing on my Line Graph

I am trying to build a dashboard for my Director of Education to project revenue from School Groups for the rest of the academic year.

I have it as a Line Chart, with the X-Axis being Performance Date, Value being Ticket Paid Amount, and Break by is Production Season.

I have it set up exactly the way the documentation is telling me (and how you guys told me during Friday's Analytic Coffee meeting), but I still can't get the Analyze It button to pop up. I am under System Admin user group, so I don't know what else to do to fix it.

Please Help! I need this for tomorrow!

Trying to filter by by transaction date (year), but not all years are showing

We have a new development director who asked for some stats on the last five fiscal years. Because of the way that we handle pledges, the amounts aren't matching our reports (we filter by transaction date, not contribution date). I made a copy of the dashboard and moved it from the contributions cube to the finance cube so I could, hopefully, filter by transaction date rather than contribution date. However, no matter where I try to add the filter for transaction date (in filters or in a filtered value), I'm not getting a complete list of years. It is only going back to FY2021 and we've been on Tessitura since FY19. Has anyone used transaction date as a filter for contributions and had it work?

Attributes in Analytics

Haia all

We've recently imported our volunteering data in to Tessitura and the team are going to be using it to register new volunteers/update existing ones going forward - however I'd love to be able to pull this data on constituents with that constituency in to Analytics so that they're able to make use of the visual reporting. Details around which Museum they volunteer at and other elements like which volunteer role or project they're working on are recorded as attributes on the records, and some of the more personal data is control grouped to just the Vols team.

I know I can start to do some of this with Lists of that constituency and/or specific attributes but wondered if anyone had any other words of wisdom? All thoughts v welcome!

Issue with GrandTotals not equaling the sum of the component line items when Formula Field in pivot

Hi All,
I am looking at the sales information for sales yesterday, specifically at the income from tickets sold below the base price (on a discount). The pivot I have set up has the line items are correctly calculating, however the the grand totals are not following the formula. When I remove either of the two variables mentioned in the formula from the rows section of the pivot, the results are the same as the grand totals, and unfair feels incorrect.

I am fairly new with tessitura, and was wondering if anyone might have any insight?

5 Year Return Analysis

Hi There! Thanks to these forums I have managed to put together a cracking new/return/lapse/churn dashboard - thank you!

I'm now looking to do a 5 year analysis with the following categories:

% attended every year for last 5 years

% attended only once in last 5 years

% attended more than once but less 5 of the last 5 years

I tried to do this in the same way I did the new/return/lapse widget. Because our Festival runs November - March I filter by Performance Detail Title. I thought I could do something like ([# of unique Constituent ID], [title 1] AND [title 2] AND [title 3]) etc where each title is the Festival year. This doesn't seem to work. Any suggestions on how to get % attended for last 5 years and % attended only once in last 5 years?

Hello -

This year's Axe-Con virtual conference from Deque featured a session on "Designing Accessible Dashboards." The session recording is available for free now on YouTube.

Although the mission here is about accessibility in the vein of WCAG and compatibility with digital accessibility tools, it's also a reasonable 'vocabulary swap' to say this is also about creating legible dashboards that are effective at their storytelling because of how the content is thoughtfully managed. I encourage everyone to deepen their familiarity with these best practices.

The session is 49 minutes, though this includes ~10 for Q&A. And, should it work for your learning style, I recommend adjusting the playback speed to tighten it up a bit further.

Breaking down % of Contributions by $$ Range?

Hi All - I usually live in SOPR - Seats & Tickets land, but I'm interested in the donations coming in with our subscription renewal.

Does anyone know how to break down # and % under $100, %101-$500, %$501-$1,000, etc? I'm filtering based on a list and a time frame. I realize this will probably be a formula in a pivot table to count these, but just not sure how?

Any advice would be appreciated!
