Hello again. 

In preparation for live participation in this workshop, if that's your plan, I recommend if possible, having two displays: one with my shared screen and one with your own Tessitura Analytics. If you plan to participate live using a single display, be prepared to Alt+Tab back and forth between my screenshare and your own Analytics, or have the two windows be not full screen and positioned so that you can easily click back and forth between them.

Hello analytic Coffee!

These sessions are a 2-part virtual workshop in which you may actively participate from your own Tessitura Analytics environment, or just observe and follow along as I present and complete the exercises, or follow along and then use the recording and content below to complete the exercises at your own pace later.

During this workshop I hope to improve your understanding of:

• Filter Precedence
• Filtered Value Formulas
• Multi-Pass Aggregation
• Conditional Functions
• Date Fields

Important information about this workshop.

• The pace of the session is intended to be gradual enough for you to keep up with the exercises
• The session is being recorded and, especially if there are a lot of live participants, we can't stop to support you if you are not seeing the expected results from an exercise. If you get stuck, please pause your participation until the next exercise. You will be able to review the recording to repeat an exercise later.
• As you work in your own Tessitura Analytics you will need to make filter selections during the exercises that differ from the selections I make while leading the instruction. The pace of the workshop is intended to allow space for you to make these choices. You will however see different results than those I receive.
• If you intend to participate live it's expected that... 
  • You know how to get around in Analytics, add filters, edit widgets, create values, etc.
  • You’ve been using those skills to create basic widgets, maybe even used some formulas.
  • You’re lurking or participating in some Community resources to learn about Analytics: the Reporting & Analytics discussion forum, and the analytic Coffee! topical user group.

To prepare for the workshop live, or for a later reenactment, please complete the following steps to:

• create folders in your Tessitura Analytics
• import the starting template dashboards
• import the solution dashboards resulting from my the exercises in my demo environment

• Download this ZIP file of dashboards: Intermediate-Workshop-Dashboards.zip
• It's preferrable for this session that you access Tessitura Analytics through the Tessitura web application
  • If you will be using the Tessitura web application, extract the contents of the ZIP file to your local computer
  • If you will be using the Tessitura desktop application, extract and move the contents of the ZIP file to a folder accessible from the Tessitura desktop application
• In Tessitura Analytics create a dashboard folder called Intermediate Workshop
• Repeat the following process for each of the dashboards from the downloaded ZIP file that are not in the \Solutions folder
  • From the options menu of the Intermediate Workshop folder, select Import Dashboard
  • Select a dashboard to import from the extracted ZIP file
  • Change the data source on the dashboard to you own corresponding data source (e.g. from TNHS-Contributions to your Contributions data source)
  • (general help on importing dashboards)
• Use the options menu of the Intermediate Workshop folder to create a new folder and call it Solutions
• Repeat the following process for each of the dashboards from the downloaded ZIP file within the \Solutions folder
  • From the options menu of the Solutions folder, select Import Dashboard
  • Select a dashboard to import from the extracted ZIP file \Solutions folder
  • Change the data source on the dashboard to you own corresponding data source (e.g. from TNHS-Contributions to your Contributions data source)
