I'm happy to chat, despite being completely new to Tessitura - I may not be able to add much. We have about 10 triggered emails with Wordfly that I set up to automate things like pre show reminders, post show surveys, abandoned carts, payment due, and the like.

Ah, yah. Reminds me of the car dealership chatbot that leaked ChatGPT, so you could ask it coding questions for free, and then people tried to score a free Chevy. I was just trying to think of a way to get a decision matrix about academy classes mixing age ranges and experience levels and ambitions and tryouts to recommend which summer course suits, but I come to my senses that chatbot for this is dangerous.

A long time ago we use to. Like a Tessitura Com it was mainly a generator of support tickets.

I haven't looked into it but I get no end of emails from CX tech Companies wanting to add AI to one.

We are not self-hosted- we use RAMP to load the Citrix platform. I'm having this issue where I can get past the RAMP log in- and Citrix looks like it loads, but the sign in window never pops up. I can see the Tessitura logo in the taskbar- but the window is nowhere to be found.

I have this happen to me frequently as well.

As a hybrid PC & Mac users, I'll elaborate on the Mac side:

Tessitura login opens, but the only way to find it is to maneuver to the offscreen options--the F3 keyboard shortcut can help; or right clicking on the Citrix icon and then opting to Show All Windows. These don't typically help me move forward, but it's useful to see that it has actually loaded.
I can often get things to move to the single active screen by going to Settings > Displays and changing the resolution to whatever and then back. I can't say this always does it, but at least it often does. Sometimes, putting the computer to sleep and waking it up again does the same re-detection, but it certainly didn't today.

I talked to the person that had the issue with printers today and they said Tessitura ended up having them remove ALL printers from their computer and then re-add them to fix the issue. I was also most likely wrong about Tessitura being able to change an INI setting.

Jeffrey, if what I said above is true, then that sucks for your home office copiers/printers. It could be just another "pick your poison" kind of things. What would you rather do, have a slow starting of the app or unistall/reinstall the printers a lot?

Either way, I'd suggest opening a ticket in case what I'm saying is incorrect or no longer applicable.

Printing Mobile Tickets Emails

I'm not finding this in the docs or forums, save an Idea: when you try to print a mobile tickets email, the QR codes don't come through. Maybe this is "clever" and on purpose, but I note that I can print the mobile Tickets from my TNEW account pages just fine. Does anyone know if this is non-negotiable design, if there's a workaround, whether I ought to enter a support ticket, etc.?

Hey Gawain, we use the Mobile Ticket Email and every now and then we have issues where the QR code doesn't appear when trying to print from the email. Usually this is due to a printer setting - try checking that the printer settings are to "show images" or "show background graphics":

The staff person that had this issue (for YEARS) is not in today, so I'll have to go by memory. I think Tessitura can set how long it waits to connect to printers within your INI file (I think). You might have to be hosted by them to do that.

Curious here if this would include printers I have access to but are currently offline. At my home office, my two 'in-office' copiers and boca printers are showing as 'offline' but are definitely not old and unused. Just not accessible from my home. And vice versa I have printers I can access while at home, but are not available from my office's network.

Just search for Printers & scanners using the Windows Search "box" and remove any old devices/printers you no longer have access to.

I am searching for organizations that have a thrust stage and use out of the box SYOS on TNEW.

I am curious to learn if the side sections are facing in towards the screen or facing forward like the main seating bank. Do ticket buyers understand that if they wish to sit in the side sections they should select the seats that are above/below each other and not side by side/left to right in the main seating bank?

staff tickets online

I am investigating how we can have our staff book their comps and staff rate tickets through tnew. In testing, I’ve created a “staff tickets” mos, and was going to use an offer to open that mos and limit the number of staff rate tickets (understanding that it’s per order and trusting the honor system). Then I was going to use a pricing rule based on staff constituency and an exclusion list for the comps- because I can have that exclusion list generate every so often and more tightly control the comp limit per customer.

BUT, here’s the stumbling block I have. Full time staff get 4 comps and 4 staff rate tickets, and part time staff get 2 comps and 2 staff rate. Am I correct in thinking that I would need to have two MOS - one for the full time staff, and one for the part time staff? Because if I have two similar offers on one mos (“get 4 staff rate tickets; get 2 staff rate tickets”), it’s going to apply the top one.

Or, if anyone has any better ideas, I’m all ears!

We do almost the same thing, though we trigger a MOS switch via a web ranking. (That + a daily staff status update from our payroll system. Easy! :-)

Neil, is this the list you see if you go to File>Printer Setup or Tools>Preferences>Default Ticket Printer? Or somewhere else? Our Client login dialog load times are comically long.

I don't have any rules quite like that running, so take it with a grain of salt. There's something about tickets being reviewed for one rule maybe not being reviewed by a second? I don't quite remember how that manifests, but it seems like it might cause some problems here.

For when it takes a long time for the login screen to appear, a likely culprit is your computer is attempting to access PRINTERS that you no longer have access to. The application often waits for the printer connection to happen before the login screen appears. Try removing old printers/devices you no longer have access to.
