Looking for recommendations you all may have on platforms for texting and push notifications that integrate with Tessitura. We're looking to add this to our lineup of tactics to utilize both for constituents in Tessitura as well as for alternate contact lists that exist outside of the Tessitura database.

We are looking to utilize it for performance reminders to our patrons via text 'know before you go', or notifications for things like 'parking is hairy out there - please leave extra time today as you plan your arrival' or for rain delays for outdoor performances. We are also looking to utilize this for communication with performers (lists that exist outside of Tessitura). In any case, we are aware we'll have to do an indepth work up of what we need for rules + regulations / permissions.

The biggest factors are probably price and whether you want to track interactions back and forth with Tessitura. Both have good editing platforms (Pro2/ActiveCampaign is more robust with automation, but I think WordFly is easier to rebuild). WordFly has a smaller team and I've found it easy to ask for updates, and I don't have a direct line to speak with people at ActiveCampaign (we work through Pro2). WordFly is definitely more design driven. I haven't used Mailchimp, but WordFly is easy to customize desktop and then recustomize for mobile, without having to go into the backend code view.

RE: WordFly vs. Prospect2

I'm a happy user of both platforms. Propect2 is an integration between ActiveCampaign, which has a very robust editing interface and connects with many other services, such as Twilio for SMS. WordFly is more contained, writing their own editor and introducing modest improvements regularly. The biggest advantage aside from cost might be the ability to pick up extracted data in WordFly, so more control is on the Tessitura side, whereas Prospect2 is all via the API with most control on the Prospect2 and ActiveCampaign sides. Support's pretty good for both, products, with maybe slight edge to Prospect2. You might require some customizations to do with WordFly things you can do with Prospect2 out of the box. I might be able to answer more specific questions.

RE: Interactions Cube dashboards to share?

Hi Jean!
Sorry of this isn't the right place to ask this, I have also posted in the TNEW community group. We are just starting the process of implementing TNEW and under some tight deadlines. What do people think of the TNEW quick start templates and using for their branding of the site? And does anyone have any examples of them? I have been sent to sites by Tessitura but they don't fill me with joy. We don't have time to outsource so it's this option or try and do something in house.
I feel you've nailed it by saying fine but no 'filling with joy.'

We were in what sounds like the same boat a few years back when we did v7--no reasonable option to outsource and none to code something out ourselves either. I pushed kinda hard on the QST template and got this iteration of our WordPress design, which never made it to all our "hopes-and-dreams" level but absolutely got the job done.

I pitched QST as a way to let us achieve our other go-live goals, but always something we could return to any future day we chose. (My understanding is that, while it may take whatever kind of usual development time to get a template behaving right, the actual swap between one template file and another is little more than swapping out a url in an Admin field--not even a mini-project in scope.) Three+ years in, it serves us well and I'm not even expecting to use the v16 upgrade as an excuse to commission a custom template. Hopefully, we'll be in a position to do a custom one next time we *need* to spend any money on it, but I'd absolutely pick the QST option again if the short cut was necessitated.

We are a museum and not a PAC but thought I would still give some input in case it's helpful. We also largely replace individuals with their households for our email lists, since often times when corresponding with patrons we want to connect with all affiliates of that household, not just one specific person. The only time I wouldn't use advanced relationships and chose to keep the individual constituent is if one of the affiliates meets certain criteria while the other affiliates do not (i.e we only want to email those who have a certain attribute on their record and ONLY want to correspond with them. An example would be an employee at a certain organization or a government official, as we want to correspond with them and not their entire family).

Email Lists - Add all primary affiliates or not?

Wondering how others (particularly PAC's) handle households in your email lists?
I'm still wrapping my head around analytics so apologies if this is a really obvious question.

I want to create a widget that shows me the year on year return rate of our patrons. So I'd like to know how many who attending in our festival in 2023 also attended in 2024, how many attend the last 5 years in a row etc (how many purchase annually vs every 2 years, 3 years etc). Does anyone have a great dashboard for showing return rates like this?

Thanks in advance!

Emily

You may want to crosspost over at the Analytic Coffee group, but I wanted to throw out that there are a couple excellent threads on this topic to check out. I have these bookmarked to reread whenever I have to answer similar questions:

Georgia (the state) is on the cusp of passing something called the "Consumer Privacy Protection Act". This is supposed to be modeled on a law already passed in Tennessee. Other versions of this law exist in several states, although in some states non-profits are exempt. Not the case here. Some of it seems to fall under GDPR, but not all of it.

I'm wondering if anyone here has had to make updates to their policies and/or procedures based on these laws. What we're finding is that to be in compliance we should conduct a "Privacy Risk Assessment". We're just trying to get some idea of what that might mean and the level of effort involved. It's hard to find any concrete examples of how to do this, or how it applies to organizations such as ours.

Anybody out there had to deal with these laws? What actions did you take to be in compliance?

Thanks,
