Townhalls on Burnout in the Workplace

Hi everyone!

I wanted to make sure you're all aware of the upcoming town halls that the Neurodiversity & Mental Wellness community group is hosting later this month.

There are 2 virtual town halls that will focus on burnout. These will be opportunities for folks to talk informally about burnout in the workplace, and to listen and share what strategies and options people have taken to support themselves and their teams. More details below.

Town hall 1: Wednesday, 20 March at 3pm GMT | 11am EDT | 8am PDT

Town hall 2: Friday, 22 March at 1pm AEDT (7pm PDT on 21 March)

TLCC 2024 Call for Presenters!

Hi everyone,

The call for presenters for TLCC Washington, D.C. is officially open!

All are welcome to submit presentation proposals, no matter your experience with Tessitura. Presenters will receive a 25% discount on the conference registration fee, and support will be available to help you prepare your presentation. Session proposals are due by Wednesday, 10 April. Learn more and submit your ideas.

You all have really, really good ideas and thoughts and conversations on here - It would be great to see some of that happening to an even wider audience in DC. Go ahead and submit a proposal and see what happens!

Here is some helpful, general information about TLCC Washington, D.C.:

Dates and location:

TLCC Washington, D.C. will take place Sunday, 11 August through Wednesday, 14 August at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center.

Registration information:

Registration opens Tuesday, 30 April.
Early bird registration $1,595 through 31 May
Regular registration $1,745 through 12 July
Last call registration $1,995 through 6 August

Virtual Viewing Pass option:

A Virtual Viewing Pass will include live access to all general sessions and 48 concurrent breakout sessions, as well as recordings of those sessions.
Registration for the Virtual Viewing Pass is $575 through last call on 6 August.
On demand access to conference content after the conference is $625.

Just wanted to send out a quick hello to you all.

Get those shovels ready, and gas cans full for your snow blowers. Looks like we're in for a good one next week.

BUT...it could just miss us like the rest of the storms this year. (That is my secret hope)

I know I will be getting out and enjoying the warm temperatures we have coming the next few days. A little sunshine and warm air is going to certainly be welcomed.

Overlapping Fixed package

Does anyone know if you can put the same performance in two different fixed packages? We've got a series where every concert has two performances except one, which would be in both the Friday and Saturday package. I was thinking about using a placeholder in each package but I'm wondering if I don't have to. Thoughts? I'm going to play around with it once I've got the performances built, I'm just planning right now.

Affinity Group Open House

On Wednesday, February 21st at 10:30 am central there is going to be a virtual open house about the 5 Affinity Groups that exist within the Tessitura Community. If you're not familiar, these groups are:

LGBTQIA+
Neurodiversity & Mental Wellness
People of Color
People with Disabilities
Women in Tech

During this virtual open house, you’ll hear from the Community Chairs of each group (including me for the Women in Tech group!). We'll share more about their group’s mission, activities, and the inclusive space they foster. Come learn how you can connect with others from similar backgrounds, discover shared interests and find your community within the welcoming affinity groups.

MTS/Tessitura Disconnect

Hello!

I've been having an issue with MTS specific email addresses and our new Tessitura system and was curious if anyone else has encountered this.

So we've found that when we send anything directly from Tessitura (such as: Email Confirmations, Tickets, web logins and password resets) to addresses with MTS, the recipient has not been receiving anything. They check junk and spam folders, but nothing. Other attempts to send anything else has also yielded similar results.

I contacted Tessitura and MTS about the issue, and MTS discovered that MTS addresses were blacklisted on Abusix, and were all soft-bouncing. MTS provided me with the IP's that were listed on the site, and Tessitura quickly delisted them. Unfortunately though, the delisting didn't stick and we're continuing to have the same soft-bouncing issue. We're getting by with printing paper tickets and order confirmations for customers, but it's definitely a hassle for people trying to login to our website (especially Members trying to book their complimentary tickets).

Has any other tessitura using organization in Winnipeg experienced this? And if so, how best did you handle it? MTS and Tessitura are both helping out immensely and giving it plenty of attention, but the issue seems to keep slipping through their fingers.

Credit Card Chargebacks and AVS

Hello All

We have experienced more chargeback this season than in my total time at the RWB.

So I am wondering if you are dealing with the same, but I also would like to know if you are currently using the Address Verification System on TNew.

We tried it year and years ago, and it did not work for us especially for our International Students. But now I would like to take a second look at implementing for your Website Sales. So I am wondering if any of you are currently using it and it you have any any issues with it, or if any of your customers are having any issues.

Applications Now Open for the Spring Session of the Career Accelerator Program

Hi Everyone!

Just a quick note to say that applications are open today for the spring session of Tessitura's Career Accelerator Program! As a graduate of this program, I cannot express enough how wonderful this program was, and I strongly encourage everyone who is eligible to apply!

Applicants must:

Be located in North America
Be at least 18 years of age
Identify as a member of a racial or ethnic group that has been historically excluded from the arts and culture sector
Intend to participate in all 10 weeks of the program, to the best of your ability

Timeline for the spring 2024 session:

Applications open on Monday, December 11, and are due by Sunday, January 21.
Applicants will be informed of the status of their application no later than Wednesday, January 31.
Accepted applicants will be asked to confirm participation by Sunday, February 11.

Program Details

The spring session runs February 19 - April 26, 2024 and is free of charge.

Up to three hours of self-paced online learning per week in either fundraising or ticketing (approx. $500 USD value)
Three 90-minute group conversations with students, mentors, program staff, and invited guests
Five 60-minute small group mentoring sessions

Private online forum for students and mentors
One year of access to the Tessitura Training Center graduate library of video training resources
Full scholarship to the next North American Tessitura Learning & Community Conference (conference fees only, travel and hotel not included; approx. $1600 USD value)

This week we officially welcomed Justin Hickmott as our third Co-Chair for our Winnipeg Group! Thanks, Justin!

The three of us will be get getting together for some brainstorming in the next couple weeks and will come back post-holiday season with some community events planned and ready to go. If you have anything specific you'd like to discuss, please leave it here as a comment for us to discuss.

In Person Meet Up One Week From Today!!

Hi Everyone!

Our meet up is one week from today! If you haven't already RSVP'd, please do so so we know how many are coming.

We will be providing pizza and will make sure there are some vegetarian options. If you're willing to contribute a snack, that would be welcome as well. Please bring your own drink.

We will start at 5 pm... if you're able to arrive earlier, please do so so we can get settled. When you come into the RWB building you will be buzzed in by security or whoever is at the front desk. Please enter through the doors beside the parkade. You will sign in and receive a visitor pass. Then you can take the elevator or the stairs to the second floor and the board room will be on your right (off the stairs) or your left (off the elevator). Through 1 set of doors. I got permission to share the RWB code for the parkade with you all to receive $2 parking if you can't find street parking. Go to the machine inside the parkade and enter "7890" after selecting the RWB Special Rate option.

A few of us will be talking about analytics and sharing dashboards that we have created, so if you want to bring a laptop and follow along, that would be great. If not, that's ok too. We will also have time at the end for an open floor discussion, so please come with questions and discussion topics ready if you have any!

DEAI Advisory Committee Applications are Now Open

Hello Winnipeg!

Today, the application period for the Community DEAI Advisory Committee is open!

For 2024, Tessitura will seat 4 new members on the committee to join 4 current members (Chloe Burton, Clayton Dickson, Carlos García León, and Shenette Swan). They are seeking a broad range of representation and lived experiences, including a representative from Australia/New Zealand, to join in this work.

Commitment

Committee members will serve a two-year term beginning in January 2024. Members are expected to:

Attend and contribute to six meetings held bi-monthly each year (length of meetings ranges from 90 minutes to two hours)
Respond to group emails and collaborate asynchronously in online forms and documents
Participate in DEAI content curation and/or creation meetings
Participate in Tessitura affinity groups as a co-chair of a group or active participant
Monitor the DEAI Forum and respond to forum posts
Agree to and follow our code of conduct for community leaders
Compensation for time and emotional labor will be US$500 per year, paid bi-annually. To learn more about the advisory committee’s aims and structure, please review our charter.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the advisory committee, members must:

Be an employee at a Tessitura member organization
Have participated in the Tessitura community for at least six months. This could involve contributing to forum discussions, attending community group events, and/or attending a Tessitura Learning & Community Conference
Have at least six months of experience at an organization live with Tessitura
