They'll share more about their group’s mission, activities and the inclusive space they foster.

Remaining Community Group Meetups in 2023

Hi all,

With it fast-approaching December, I wanted to share some highlights for the remaining community groups meeting in 2023:

- Tomorrow (Thursday) our global group Email Strategy, with 2 London-based co-chairs, will meet for an open discussion of key topics via Teams at 4pm: more details and RSVP

- EU Finance meet next Monday 5th December in-person in Southampton with topics including gift aid, direct debits, and reconciliation with Tessitura Merchant Service: more details and RSVP

In addition:

- The Midlands group has a virtual meetup scheduled for 25th January: more details and RSVP.

- The EU Museums & Attractions group also have a virtual meetup on 1st February: more details and RSVP.

Emerging Leaders & Diversity Scholarships for TLCC Gateshead - Now Open Until 16th November

Hello all,

I'm pleased to let you know that the scholarship application period for TLCC Gateshead (5-6 March 2024) is now open! Please help us spread word and pass this on to any members of your team who may be interested.

We have five scholarships available for TLCC Gateshead - three Diversity and two Emerging Leader opportunities.

Scholarships will cover the full conference registration fee, but awardees will be responsible for their own travel expenses and lodging.

Applications coupled with letters of recommendation are due by COB next Thursday 16th November - more details regarding eligibility and online application links can be found on our website here.

Applications welcome for Tessitura's Community DEAI Advisory Committee

Hello, all! I wanted to share that the application period for the Community DEAI (Diversity, Equity, Accessibility and Inclusion) Advisory Committee is now open.

For 2024, Tessitura will seat 4 new members on the committee to join 4 current members (Chloe Burton, Clayton Dickson, Carlos García León, and Shenette Swan). They are seeking a broad range of representation and lived experiences to join in this work.

Commitment

Committee members will serve a two-year term beginning in January 2024. Members are expected to:

Attend and contribute to six meetings held bi-monthly each year (length of meetings ranges from 90 minutes to two hours)
Respond to group emails and collaborate asynchronously in online forms and documents
Participate in DEAI content curation and/or creation meetings
Participate in Tessitura affinity groups as a co-chair of a group or active participant
Monitor the DEAI Forum and respond to forum posts
Agree to and follow our code of conduct for community leaders
Compensation for time and emotional labor will be US$500 per year, paid bi-annually. To learn more about the advisory committee’s aims and structure, please review our charter.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the advisory committee, members must:

Be an employee at a Tessitura member organisation
Have participated in the Tessitura community for at least six months. This could involve contributing to forum discussions, attending community group events, and/or attending a Tessitura Learning & Community Conference (TLCC)
Have at least six months of experience at an organisation live with Tessitura

WordFly (default) email recipients from Tessitura

Hi everyone,

Hope you're all well 🙂

Reaching out with a dual Tessitura/WordFly query that I hope someone can help us with!

Nowadays we regularly make use of the Initiator and Alternative Email functions in Tessitura ticket orders, so that we have more fine control over the recipients of order confirmations and e-tickets (especially for Partner and Festival guest/Press tickets). For cancelled events, we've noticed that the Event Cancellation Utility appears to respect alternative email addresses used against orders. However, as we send the cancellation notice itself through WordFly, we're a bit unclear as to whether WordFly respects any alternatives set in Tessitura, or if it always defaults to the primary email address assigned to a constituent record used for a ticket order, regardless of Initiator etc.

Any clarification on this would be gratefully received, and thanks ever so much in advance,

Hi all! A reminder that this Wednesday (17th May) Tessitura will host an event discussing mental health and wellness in the sector. From the event page:

Industry statistics show that the arts sector has a problem with mental health. So how do we create a work environment that prioritises equitable well-being? Our panel will discuss the different approaches their organisations are taking. We'll cover grassroots efforts, cross-organisational structures, and distributed affinity groups. You will leave with resources and ideas to make positive changes in your workplace.

Upcoming Informal Info Session: How to become a Tessitura Community Chair (8th February)

Are you looking for opportunities to grow professionally and personally? Do you want to discover and share new solutions and ideas? Do you love bringing people together to build meaningful relationships? Become a Tessitura Community Chair!

RSVP to this informal session on 8th February at 4.30pm (GMT) to learn how you can volunteer with Tessitura. You can help facilitate connections across regions, genres, interests and affinities.

Lead one of our groups and bring Tessitura members together - you’ll be surprised by the impact you can have on people’s lives, careers, and institutions!

The Role

Tessitura members come to Community Groups to expand their networks, share their expertise, and connect with peers around common interests. Community Chairs volunteer their time to build and lead these groups, and host meetups that bring members together to share best practices and build relationships. You'll:

- develop your leadership skills
- build valuable new networks
- take back tangible ideas and learnings to your work
- be recognised for your contribution internally at Tessitura and in the wider community
- and more...

Each Community Group is led by two to three co-chairs and may also have an extended planning team. Community Groups are expected to meet virtually or in-person at least once per year.

Previous experience in group management or facilitation is not required. Tessitura provides initial onboarding, followed by on-going support and various resources. These include a dedicated UK-based Community Manager and invitations to events led by the community team, enabling you to connect with other Community Chairs globally.

Closing Wednesday 7th: Applications for Tessitura's Community DEAI Advisory Committee!

We’re keen to secure EU representation for Tessitura’s 2023 Community DEAI (Diversity, Equity, Accessibility and Inclusion) Advisory Committee, and I'm pleased to say that applications are now open!

This advisory committee plays a valuable role in DEAI content creation for Tessitura events, participates in Tessitura affinity groups, monitors and responds to posts in the DEAI forum, and serves as a channel for feedback and communication between Tessitura and the community.

For 2023, 4 new members will be seated on the committee and join 4 current members from the 2022 advisory committee. Committee members serve a two-year term and are expected to:

- Attend four quarterly two-hour meetings per year
- Respond to group emails
- Participate in DEAI content curation and/or creation meetings, as needed
- Participate in Tessitura affinity groups, as a co-chair of a group or active participant
- Monitor the DEAI Forum and respond to forum posts
- Agree to and follow our code of conduct
