In A Clockwork Orange and Beyond, we explore the innovations that shaped a generation of trailblazing composers and their film scores.

Wendy Carlos opened the floodgates to a new, unique sound world in the 1960s. With her Switched-On Bach albums, Carlos interpreted Bach for the electronic age, bringing the Moog Synthesiser and electronic music into mainstream pop. Her music paved the way for the likes of Brian Eno, Kate Bush and generations of musicians across funk, pop, rock and more.

A Clockwork Orange is considered as much Carlos’s film as Stanley Kubrick’s. Her blend of original composition with synthesised treatments of classical music was audacious and wildly influential. Meanwhile, UK musician Delia Derbyshire gave Australian composer Ron Grainer’s theme for Doctor Who its indelible sci-fi sound.

Taking its cue from the innovations of Carlos and Derbyshire, while looking back to Hollywood’s golden age, sits the music of Vangelis, John Williams and Hans Zimmer – some of the most affecting and iconic in cinema.

Joining Richard and the ACO for this sonic feast is the Will Gregory Moog Ensemble, a uniquely innovative synth band led by Goldfrapp’s Will Gregory, with synth musicians including Florence and the Machine keyboardist Hazel Mills.

The Australian Chamber Orchestra is renowned world-wide for its inspired and courageous programming and unrivalled performances. In early 2022, the ACO moved to our new, purpose-built home on Pier 2/3 in Sydney’s Walsh Bay Arts Precinct, which includes a 275 seat Performance Space, Studio Space, Media Suite, and Event Space - an exciting new home for performance, presentation, community engagement and collaborative opportunities.

ABOUT THE POSITION

ACO Ticketing Sales Representatives play a vital role in nurturing relationships with our valued ACO subscribers and patrons. We are looking for enthusiastic, self-motivated Representatives to work with other members of the Box Office to assist with subscription processing and sales for the ACO.

Candidates will be expected to deliver polite and professional customer service and maintain accurate ticketing records in the ACO’s ticketing system, Tessitura.

RESPONSIBILTIES

Australian Brandenburg Orchestra is looking to appoint a Receptionist/Ticketing Assistant to join its Ticketing Team. This position works closely with the Customer Relations Manager, Deputy Customer Relations Manager and Ticketing Executive in supporting the day-to-day administration and operations for the Reception and Ticketing areas. As the role is also they first point of contact for all guests to the office the role also works closely with the Managing Director, Executive Producer and Executive Assistant.

The successful candidate will have strong administration and customer service experience with great organisational skills. They will have a pro-active approach and work well within a team and with everyone in the company.

Key responsibilities include:

Being the primary contact at Reception and assist with the day-to-day operations of the office including opening and closing procedures, welcoming and looking after external visitors to the office, answering calls to the Administration phone line, and organisation of common areas including kitchen, bathrooms, stationery and meeting rooms.
Being a key contributor to the Customer Service of the company by answering calls to the Ticketing phone line, processing single ticket and subscription tickets sales using the CRM software Tessitura, overseeing the company’s voicemail, assist in the management of ticketing printers, ticket stock and ticket mailers/wallets, updating records in the Tessitura database, assist with the Guest Ticketing desk at concerts when required, and assist with the subscription filing

The location of the Brandenburg Office is in Mascot and free car parking is available for employees. The office is just a short walk from Mascot railway station which is seven minute train journey from Central Station.

Experience using the CRM software Tessitura is strongly desired.

Griffin Theatre Company is on the lookout for a brand new Box Office Manager (Full Time)!

The Box Office Manager is responsible for the development, implementation and management of Griffin’s customer services and ticketing policies and systems, and the smooth operation of the SBW Stables Theatre box office. They provide an exceptional experience for our patrons and guests, and ensures sound systems and database management. The Box Office Manager has autonomy to manage the Tessitura CRM system (including the online sales path), and develop and implement procedures in consultation with the General Manager. They also manage Griffin’s in-house Tessitura user group meetings, encouraging adoption of best systems and processes internally to deliver better business outcomes for the company.

Selection criteria:

Demonstrated experience in the management, processes and practices of a box office, and a working knowledge of computerised box office ticketing systems, preferably in an arts organisation
A personable and flexible approach to people, with exceptional interpersonal, communication and customer service skills
Proven ability to prioritise, time manage, multi-task and meet strict deadlines in an efficient manner
Demonstrated experience in financial transactions for reconciliation and balancing of daily takings, floats and banking
Very high proficiency in word processing, database and other Microsoft Office software (especially Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel)
Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate

ADMINISTRATION - PHILANTHROPY DEPARTMENT:

a) Processing and receipting of donations and acknowledgements in a timely, accurate and efficient manner;
b) Maintaining up-to-date records in the CRM (Tessitura);
c) Drafting letters to patrons or major supporters and overseeing send out, including mass mailouts;
d) Managing and pulling database lists and checking for accuracy for major donation campaign mailouts or other external communications;
e) Managing donor listings for website and concert programs;
f) Reporting for philanthropy as required.

EVENT PLANNING AND MANAGEMENT:

a) Operational planning of all development events, under the direction of the Head of Development, including but not limited to fundraising events, cultivation events, corporate partner events, concert hospitality and entertaining;
b) Management of procurement process for events including working with various suppliers and venues and ensuring procurement processes are followed and budgeted expenditure appropriately managed;
c) Creative oversight of events to ensure events meet the Brandenburg standards and are delivered to brief;
d) Overall administration of the event including co-ordination of invitations, ticketing, marketing of the event and ensuring all CRM systems and databases (Tessitura) have accurate and up-to-date information and any other administration is managed;
e) Working with the Artistic team to make arrangements for performances and to receive important artistic input for the events;
f) Prepare and distribute relevant documentation for events including run sheets, event debriefs, documentation and any other reports as required;
g) On the day, event management of the event- key point of contact for all venues/suppliers, managing all timings and delivery of the event.

SUPPORTING BROADER DEVELOPMENT OBJECTIVES:

a) Patron engagement – maintaining strong engagement with a portfolio of patrons as requested and designated by the Head of Department;
b) Managing key marketing deliverables for the development department in collaboration with the marketing team including collating and reviewing key outputs, sourcing content and drafting copy as required;
c) Supporting day-to-day management of sponsorship deliverables including ticketing and marketing;
d) Supporting day-to-day management of sponsors as directed by the Head of Development;
e) Drafting of grant applications and acquittals, under direction of Head of Department or Philanthropy Manager;
f) Research on the philanthropic landscape and/or specific research projects as required;
g) Support department on key projects as required;
h) Attend concerts and events to ensure hospitality needs are met and all associated event requirements are in place;
i) Ensure consistent, professional and courteous servicing of external suppliers and clients;
j) Any other administration duties that arise from time to time.

GENERAL:

a) Provide support to the Head of Development as required;
b) Provide support to the broader Development team as required, including philanthropy,
fundraising, fundraising events, grant funding, trusts and foundation, partnerships or other activity;
c) Work across both Corporate Partnerships and Philanthropy as and when required by the Head of Development and/or the Managing Director;
d) As needed, you will be required to attend concerts and events outside of office hours (including on weekends). Domestic travel is also required;
e) Other duties as required.

NIDA invites you to book complimentary tickets to attend its Festival of Emerging Artists - from 7 December to 10 December.

The Festival of Emerging Artists 2022 is a collection of short productions led by NIDA's Master of Fine Arts (Directing) and Bachelor of Fine Arts (Design for Performance and Technical Theatre & Stage Management) and showcases the work of BFA Costume, Props, and Scenic Construction students.

The Festival is a snapshot of the bold emerging talents making their way into our arts and entertainment industries.

The productions run for 40 minutes (approx.) and you can see up to three productions in one evening.

Through a nostalgic lens, this feel-good dance experience reflects on a time that was both pure and simple, but also a time defined by the distinct challenges of becoming an adult.

Inger, a Swedish choreographer, danced with Nederlands Dans Theater and has created works for leading companies all over Europe.
