We had an option for Adults and Children, this was more to do with tracking uptake rather than pricing, both price types had the option of entering any amount. We added some instructional text to the booking page to offer 'suggested' prices of £6 for adults and £3 for children but reassured bookers that we would be happy with any amount contributed and that paying nothing was fine. Perhaps because we had this guidance on the page, the most common price paid was £3 for both adults and children by quite a substantial majority. There were a range of prices paid: excluding those who opted to pay nothing, we had prices from 20p up to £10 per person. For our next family day we've switched from having bookers enter a price per 'ticket,' to having 6 unique price types: Adults at £5/£3/Free and Children £5/£3/Free. Funnily enough, looking at the data for this new day, so far the majority of bookers have selected the free option rather than pay anything which is interesting. We're still experimenting with this format so it would be interesting to hear how things go for you. Best, Sam

Forum Post: Pay what you can

Haia all Hope you're well! (Cross posting in a few groups so sorry if you get this multiple times..!) We're looking at offering pay what you can for one of our exhibitions coming up, and I wondered if anyone was able to share their average amounts given if you've also done something similar in the past? We have some data from our Events programme but this is quite minimal and my hunch is that the average for an exhibition is not the same as a one off event (Although I'm happy to be proved wrong!). It would also be great to know how you presented this on the purchase path, eg with different options at different price points or a free type field for people to input their amount? All thoughts very welcome! Diolch pawb / Thanks in advance! This month through our two venues in Southampton, England - Mayflower Theatre and MAST Mayflower Studios, we launched a campaign to combat poor audience behaviour. The idea for this new campaign was born after seeing an uptick in audience behaviour issues in other venues across the country. We brought together an internal working group which included representatives from across the organisation, including Front of House staff, artistic and executive leadership and our marketing team. We decided to lead with images of our real staff members with messaging around behaviour to bring back the human face to the campaign. We wanted to take a proactive initiative to remind our customers of the friendly faces of our organisation, what they do, and most importantly, that they’re human and doing their best to ensure that all customers have the most enjoyable experience possible. The campaign runs with two taglines "See the show - don't be the show" and "There's no excuse for abuse" Alongside a PR launch, and full media campaign, the images are being used on social media, pre-visit emails, physical posters around the building and on digital screens. We even have new badges containing the taglines for all staff to wear. We have had so much positive feedback from our teams following the launch and they feel empowered by being involved in the campaign. Here is a link to the campaign images: Microsoft Word - Document1 (mayflower.org.uk) I hope this helps and provides some useful ideas.

Forum Post: Registration is open for TLCC Gateshead!

Full details here: TLCC Europe (tessituranetwork.com) Hopefully will see some of you there and we'll be looking to catch up in person as a community group during the two days.
