Hope you're all peachy!

We're looking to improve efficiencies in our Development team and just wondered if anyone has done any integration work with Goodbox on importing donations in to Tessitura? We currently import these monthly for each site manually and would love to be able to speed this up. I was thinking there is maybe something in the contribution import that could be utilised but would love to hear if anyone has any brain waves!

Pay what you can

Hope you're well! (Cross posting in a few groups so sorry if you get this multiple times..!)

We're looking at offering pay what you can for one of our exhibitions coming up, and I wondered if anyone was able to share their average amounts given if you've also done something similar in the past? We have some data from our Events programme but this is quite minimal and my hunch is that the average for an exhibition is not the same as a one off event (Although I'm happy to be proved wrong!). It would also be great to know how you presented this on the purchase path, eg with different options at different price points or a free type field for people to input their amount?

All thoughts very welcome!

Hi everyone, please note that for various reasons, the next meeting will now be online. We hope that this will encourage more of you to attend.

We are still after discussion point and presenters, so feel free to volunteer or to suggest subjects.

Hi everyone. Following the spectacular success of our inaugural meeting we are looking to hold another one in the new year.

** Please note the new change of format: the meeting will take place online (not in-person as had previously been communicated) on Thursday 8th February - exact timing TBC but will be an 1.30pm start. **

Kirsty and I will be pulling together an agenda and we would appreciate any ideas for subjects to discuss. We would also like to put a call out to anyone who would like to volunteer to present, all subjects welcome. Everyone is lovely, so don't be scared!

Audience Behaviour campaign

Hello lovely fellow Tessiturians.

This month through our two venues in Southampton, England - Mayflower Theatre and MAST Mayflower Studios, we launched a campaign to combat poor audience behaviour.

The idea for this new campaign was born after seeing an uptick in audience behaviour issues in other venues across the country. We brought together an internal working group which included representatives from across the organisation, including Front of House staff, artistic and executive leadership and our marketing team. We decided to lead with images of our real staff members with messaging around behaviour to bring back the human face to the campaign. We wanted to take a proactive initiative to remind our customers of the friendly faces of our organisation, what they do, and most importantly, that they’re human and doing their best to ensure that all customers have the most enjoyable experience possible. The campaign runs with two taglines "See the show - don't be the show" and "There's no excuse for abuse" Alongside a PR launch, and full media campaign, the images are being used on social media, pre-visit emails, physical posters around the building and on digital screens. We even have new badges containing the taglines for all staff to wear. We have had so much positive feedback from our teams following the launch and they feel empowered by being involved in the campaign.

Monday 4th December: Finance Community meeting in Southampton

Good evening, friends of the South West and Wales!

Here's a fun cross-posting for you: if any of your Finance Teams are interested, we're holding an in-person EU Finance Community Group meetup on the South coast at Mayflower Theatre in Southampton, on Monday 4th December from 2pm to 4.30pm!

Current topics of discussion are:

1. Gift Aid
a) set up things to consider and best practices
b) declaration storage and retentions
c) membership schemes and a possible change to the ability to claim

2. Merchant services reconciliations, a follow up for any questions from the TMS presentation at the last meeting and any other issues the group is having with Windcave or TMS.

3. Direct Debits v Continuous card payments

Hello all! Our scholarship application period for TLCC Gateshead (5-6 March 2024) closes this Thursday 16th! Please help us spread word and pass this on to any members of your team who may be interested.

We have five scholarships available:

Scholarships will cover the full conference registration fee, but awardees will be responsible for their own travel expenses and lodging.

We're super excited that Ellie Griffiths, from Tessitura Network will be presenting on the Fundraising benchmarking survey recently completed as well as a run down of v16.

We're also looking for speakers/presenters from different organisations to share what they've been working on, it could be some tricks you've learned to speed up day to day tasks, a new dashboard you're proud of, a new piece of functionality for your organisation or something you're working on that isn't even live yet.. the list is endless! These can be as short as 5-10 minute presentations/talks and it's entirely up to you which format you present in.

Your Final Community Chair Introduction

Hi everyone. Sorry for the delay, but I would like to introduce myself as the final member of your South West England, and Wales Community Chairs troika. Yes, I think we need an Oxford comma, but am happy to discuss this at the first meeting.

My current role is as Database Manager for Mayflower Theatre and MAST Mayflower Studios in Southampton. I have been in my current post since 2017 and prior to that I have also been part of the Front of House and Box Office teams. In total I have worked for Mayflower Theatre for 17 years.

I work as part of the Database team with my colleagues Chris Campbell and Sam Bourne and my role covers most aspects of CRM management. Similar to Kirsty we offer support to the ticketing team and other departments as well as being responsible for all show set-up and general maintenance.

I have been involved in the Tessitura community for a while, having attended many of the Ticketing and Admin group meet ups as well as a few conferences in Europe and the US.

Away from work I am an enthusiatic and frequent gig goer and I try to attend the Scotland national football team matches as often as possible. I also play football and cycle and enjoy travel, cinema, eating out, reading and accidentally drinking too much at Tessitura conferences.

Like my other co-chairs I am eager to get our regional group up and running and to have an inaugural meeting in the near future. As a first step we have compiled a short jotform questionnaire to gauge interest and it would be great if as many of you as possible can fill it out. I will post this in a separate discussion in case I have bored you silly and you haven't made it down this far.

Haia all

We're still working on some things behind the scenes to kickstart the group, but a bit of an intro from me...

I'm Kirsty (she/her), and I'm the CRM & Data Manager at Amgueddfa Cymru - Museum Wales, which is a family of seven museums across Wales from Wool to Mining and everything in between! We went live in Tessitura in July last year but our roadmap is a pretty big one so there's lots going on all the time. I previously worked at Wales Millennium Centre for 8 years so not a newbie to the community, and it's great to be back!

In my current role, I'm responsible for a small team looking after ticketing, CRM management, onboarding other departments and the never ending roadmap, as well as the wider Commercial Platforms programme which includes Retail and how we can consolidate our systems to get the most out of them across the organisation. We've just onboarded our development team ahead of the new financial year, and also working on importing our visitor figures in to Tessitura to use in Analytics.

Outside of work, I'm a big musical theatre, cheese, books and Greys Anatomy fan... and am basically powered by sunshine and tea, so very glad the clocks have changed now.

Really looking forward to meeting some more of you from across the South West of England and Wales, it's a beautiful part of the world (yes I'm biased having grown up in Somerset and now lived in Wales for 13 years!) and there are definitely some unique challenges which come with regional venues, which I'm keen to explore further and work out the best ways we can use Tessitura!

We know there are many people who deal with the financial aspect of Tessitura out there, whether your in a Finance, Development, or a different department - we would love to hear from you all!

Where we are wanting to know is, what topics people want/need to discuss with other like minded people? Or maybe even advice from others on a topic?

A quick intro to your co-chair

Hey all. Whilst myself and the other lovely co-chairs work in the background on the best way to kickstart the group in the new year, here's a little more info about me for starters...

I'm James (he/him), and I've been a part of the Operations Department at We The Curious science centre for over 6 years.

In my current role as CRM & Ticketing Lead I work on the more Operations side of CRM; so things like rolling our Tessitura CRM system out to new teams, improving visitor experience, and making sure we’ve got a smooth ticketing process both online and onsite. My favourite part of my role is getting to chat through the big picture of a project. Since I started at We The Curious I've done lots of weird and wonderful roles, including working as an Ice Rink Duty Manager for our seasonal ice rink we used to run!

Whilst I spend most of my time at work thinking about how we can improve both income and audience engagement, outside of it I'm also passionate about strength training, video gaming, and figuring out how not to kill my houseplants.

One of the things I'm most looking forward to about this group is the opportunity to network/hang out with lots of other wonderful arts and culture professionals in South West England and Wales. Our audience(s) in this part of the UK are particularly wonderful, and I'm really excited to chat to you all about what makes our little corner of the arts and culture world so unique.

Hello everyone! I wanted to share this current opportunity from Arts Council England and partners including Arts Council of Wales, who are looking for feedback if you represent a creative or cultural organisation in the UK, with regular interaction with audiences.

There's a survey available currently, and responses will help shape the future direction of the Arts and Cultural Access Scheme.

The Scheme 'intends to support and complement the work already carried out by existing support organisations, ticketing providers and creative and cultural organisations, while additionally seeking to address an often inconsistent and fragmented approach to access.'
