Hi Gina - Thanks for the update! Our leadership is excited to get Apple Wallet implemented, so we're looking to upgrade at the end of summer. Currently starting the process of preparing for the switch.

Hi Sarah, initially we were targeting v16 in test next month and live in May, but with changes in our upcoming season we will be postponing, very likely for a year from now with that same timeline. So I've already done work on migration tables and lots of research, but am happy we'll have more time before the switch!

The world is listening and responding to social injustice across America and the Black Lives Matter movement. Last month we gathered via Virtual Open Space Discussions to discuss how we, as arts and culture professionals, can support the change that needs to happen in our organizations and in the field.

Please join us as we continue these conversations in another round of Virtual Open Space Discussions. Bring your questions and engage in meaningful discussions with your peers around our theme “Anti-Racism and the Arts and Cultural Sector: A Moment for Response and Ideas, Continued.” This event is open to anyone in the community. Feel free to spread the word and invite your colleagues to join us.

This event takes place on Monday, July 20 at 3-5:30pm EDT. Please register in advance.

The Tessitura Community has embraced the Open Space Discussions format at our global and regional conferences (TLCC, TEC and ANZTRUC), at Regional Tessitura User Group Meetings and, most recently, via virtual sessions. These events have presented wonderful opportunities for people to engage in discussions about topics that are important to them - to find others with the same concerns and share solutions.

The Tessitura Network is hosting two Virtual Open Space Discussion events on July 16th (July 17th AEST). You are welcome to participate in either (or both!).

The first event is timed to invite participation from Europe and the Eastern part of North America.

Reports to: Chief Operating Officer

The Gallo Center for the Arts enriches the quality of life in California’s San Joaquin Valley by providing an inspirational civic gathering place where regional, national and international cultural activities illuminate, educate and entertain. The downtown Modesto complex houses the 1,248-seat Mary Stuart Rogers Theater and the 440-seat Foster Family Theater. Since its opening in 2007, the Gallo Center for the Arts and its resident companies have served more than 2 million patrons with a diverse array of arts, entertainment and cultural experiences. JOB DESCRIPTION

The Ticket Office Manager is responsible for the efficient operation of the Phone Center and Ticket Windows at the Gallo Center for the Arts. He/she will participate in the hiring and training of all Ticket Office staff, and will be responsible for maintaining a superior level of customer service at all times. He/she will assist the Chief Operating Officer in terms of ensuring adherence to policies and procedures, and for creating a work environment that promotes a positive work culture.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Ticket Office Manager will:

Supervise, schedule and evaluate work of all part-time ticket office staff in their execution of sales transactions for subscription packages and single tickets

Create and maintain the highest standards in customer service for the Phone Center and Ticket Windows
Maintain a thorough understanding of the Tessitura arts enterprise software platform and its impact on other Center departments
Work proactively with the Center’s group sales manager (in the marketing department) to achieve the best possible results in group sales
Create ongoing motivational and incentive programs in the Phone Center and Ticket Windows by creating a team spirit and camaraderie with rewards
Ensure speedy responses to patron inquiries, calls, complaints and visits
Monitor phone traffic through call management tools in the phone system
Determine if any additional ongoing training is needed for ticket office staff
Assist in the evaluation of part-time staff with the Chief Operating Officer
Ensure sound fiscal practices in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Gallo Center for the Arts and the Ticket Office
Entering and maintaining all facilities, performances and prices in the Tessitura ticketing system.
Consult with the Director of Marketing, as needed, to help implement ticket sales strategies that will cultivate new patrons for the Center
Perform other duties and projects as assigned

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITY

Knowledge of a theater environment and non-profit organization is preferred

Expert-level Tessitura skills and the ability to train others in its use
Superior customer service skills and experience
Ability to supervise and direct staff and volunteers effectively
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to perform well under pressure and to work independently
Knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook
Sense of humor and great patience is essential
QUALIFICATIONS:

At least three years of experience working in a ticket office

Willingness to work some weekends and evenings is required
Associates degree or undergraduate degree or equivalent in level of experience

If you attended TLCC2019, then you should have received a quick survey last week. Thank you, if you already responded. If you didn't receive it, please check your spam/junk folder. I know that in one instance if was filtered into spam. The survey is regarding the scheduling our next TUG meeting. We look forward to finalizing that date by the end of next week, and will be setting the agenda for that meeting, which will be held at the Mondavi Center, very soon.

Morning All,

Trying to combat ticket brokers/scalpers online

Has anyone set up a rule in TNEW that any patrons out-of-area coming through the website will automatically default to a notification that such orders can only be placed by phone using our toll-free number and/or be blocked from purchasing on their website? We realize this will not stop all as brokers/scalpers are everywhere, but it will get rid of a big chunk.

November 2018 Regional TUG Survey

All,

Our colleagues at the Gallo Center for the Arts in Modesto have graciously offered their location as our first meeting space on Thursday, November 8 at 3 p.m. In order to book the best location for our meeting and start working on logistics, they are asking for a head count as soon as possible. Our first main topic will be Data Hygiene and Management (Macro and Micro) for the best outputs to Development and Marketing Campaigns. We will also have a casual environment for you to get to know your colleagues at the other organizations and start collaborating. There will also be local Tessitura staff in attendance.

The TUG Planning Committee has put together this very short (literally 60 seconds) survey in order to gauge attendance, collect your thoughts on future topics, and offer the opportunity for you to serve on the planning committee.

Education Constituent Records

Hi all!

Our power user group has been discussing how to manage records for constituents who are educators and purchase tickets to our school matinee programs, but may also be ticket purchasers to our regular season. How do you handle managing their records? What are the positives and negatives of keeping the records separate, or having all ticket history on one account. One of our main concerns is how to make sure we are properly managing what set of tickets get sent to which address: their school address or personal address. (Note: We are not using Contact Point Purposes - yet!)
