A few updates for your Friday afternoon!

Hello everyone! I hope you've had a great week. I know there are lots of events and holiday celebrations happening this weekend, so I'm crossing my fingers for good weather for all of us!

I wanted to let you know about two things:

Crystal Bridges' membership team reached out to the Devo team at TheatreSquared this week to ask about our experience using Donate2 with Tessitura. We're going to meet on Tuesday 4/2 at 1:30pm to discuss/show & tell/ask questions. If you're also interested in that topic, drop me a line and I will send you the link to join the meeting virtually.
Tessitura recently announced that they are giving out some scholarships to this year's TLCC! This is a big deal, and a great opportunity to experience TLCC especially if you've never been. Recap of Meeting - 3.14.24 via Zoom

Good afternoon!

Thanks so much to all who were able to join in the Zoom call this morning. It was a great reminder of just how many of you are out here doing incredible work at your organizations, and I am continually inspired by you.

If you didn't get a chance to join the call, here's a brief recap of what was discussed:

16 people were present and introduced themselves, organizations represented were:
- TheatreSquared
- WAC/AMP
- Amazeum
- Crystal Bridges
- The Momentary
Marley Wynne, local-to-us Tessitura staffer, gave a highlights update on what's going on at Tessitura and what we can look forward to soon
The group collaborated in some brainstorming about what we'd like to do with this group in the future. Ideas included:
- Sharing of new ideas during regular meetings
- Sharing best practices for different departments, for example Education and programming
- Training around Analytics (101-level, tips and tricks, how to get buy-in from the whole organization to use Analytics)
- Training on setting up distribution lists for reports/dashboards
- 3rd party solutions we're using (specifically L2 maybe?)
- Ethical list/resource sharing solutions
- Department-specific breakout groups
- A mini regional conference? Collaborating with our nearest regions in Tulsa, KC, and Little Rock

I'm very energized around these ideas and I look forward to planning some great gatherings for us this year.

And one last plug for the Community Groups--obviously I'm biased to our regional group, but I've also been enjoying the other topical groups. An Event! And a request!

Hello NWA friends!!

I'm so excited to let you know that we've got a virtual meet-up on the calendar for March 14, 2024, at 11:00AM. You should have received an invitation to register by now (if you haven't, please let me know!). I sincerely hope you will take the hour and join us. We'll be discussing how we can engage with each other in this group in supportive and creative ways this year.

My request: would you also invite your colleagues to this event? We are hoping your organization will be represented across the board, from Marketing to Education, from Devo to Ticketing, and everything in between! We want to see your faces and hear your thoughts and needs.

Introduction time!

Happy Thursday, NWA TUG!

I'm Rachel Mills, the Ticketing & CRM Director at TheatreSquared. I'm so excited to be joining Eron as a co-chair for the NWA Tess user group and looking forward to learning more about what you all would like to gain from this group.

I've been at T2 since January 2019, helping with the transition from a ticketing/box office team managed by our partners at Walton Arts Center to a ticketing/box office team all on our own. I worked in both development and ticketing at WAC from 2015-2017, took a brief hiatus from the arts scene as the Assistant Director of the MBA program at the University of Arkansas, but couldn't stay away from the arts (and Tessitura!). I like to help our organization make data-driven decisions and using my educational background (earned my MBA from the University of Arkansas in 2015) to help advise on pricing structure, inventory management, and sales opportunities. I've been to TLCC 3 times so far and love the inspiring feeling everyone seems to have after that conference. I very much enjoy learning how other users are making use of the database and being creative in their problem solving.

I'm originally from central AR, but have been in Fayetteville for 13 years. I've to set up a side hustle boarding dogs at our house; so if you ever need a pet-sitter, hit me up! Outside of work, there's EVEN MORE THEATRE! I'm active in the community theatre scene in NWA and love performing with other amateur artists. My husband and I have 6 pets (and equal mix of dogs and cats) and three grown sons. I like to cook, cross stitch, and (possibly my most expensive habit) add to my ever growing tattoo collection.

You'll be hearing more from me and Eron in the coming weeks - starting with a poll of what YOU want to see from this group. But in the mean time, let's conduct an unscientific poll of my own... what's your favorite breakfast food??

Howdy folks! I'm so excited to let you know that Rachel Mills and I have volunteered to step in as co-chairs for this regional community group. We've got some big ideas and lots of energy for making this space a great resource for all of you. But for now, we'll just introduce ourselves!

I'm Eron (pronounced like "Ear - in") Huenefeld (she, her pronouns), and I'm currently serving as the Development Coordinator at TheatreSquared in Fayetteville. Next month will be my two year anniversary with T2! My husband Wayne and I moved to NWA at the beginning of 2020 from Seattle, WA. While in Seattle, I used Tessitura at Seattle Children's Theatre in multiple capacities, from box office to events to fundraising, for 10 years. I also served as the Development Director for Theatre Puget Sound for 2 years. I've attended TLCC 4 times and was active in the Seattle area community group while I lived there. I LOVE brainstorming and generative round-table convos where we can help each other with challenges and pain points we come up against. I'm always up for a conversation over a good cup of coffee (which I'm delighted to find in droves here!).

I am a theatre nerd through and through. I have a dog and two cats who are my pride and joy. I love to sing karaoke. You'll find me regularly gathering with friends for board games, card games, and TTRPGs.

Most of all, I can't wait to have a chance to connect with all of you and support each other in the incredible work we're all doing here in NWA. More to come very soon.

Shine your light at TLCC!

Happy Thursday y'all!

You may have seen this come through via email or on the other community groups you're part of, but: Tessitura has put out its official call for presenters for TLCC Orlando 2023!

If you've had the opportunity to attend, you know that TLCC is one of the most excellent resources that Tessitura offers every year. Are any of you planning to attend, or thinking about it?

Whether or not you've decided to go, this is your chance to share your particular brand of brilliance with the entire Tessitura community. I strongly encourage you to submit an idea for a presentation, or even multiple ideas if you're feeling extra prolific today. You don't need to have attended before or be a "Tessi Guru" to submit. TLCC attendees are coming from all levels of experience and all walks of life, and your idea may end up being the mind-blowing session someone attends in August!

So excited to have you as a Community Chair! I'm local, as are a few other folks who work for Tessitura Network, so you may occasionally see us at in-person events. I've been in NA Arkansas for 15 years. I worked at WAC for several years before joining TN. Alexandria Lee probably has better suggestions on local places to hit up in Fayetteville (I'm in Bentonville now). Up this way, there are loads of fantastic places on the Bville Square (Table Mesa, Tavola, Tusk & Trotter and there is a super popular place that is pretty new that we haven't been to yet called Conifer...there are several other new places we haven't tried yet), and also some great spots over in downtown Rogers. My husband LOVES the Cuban place in Rogers - Havana Tropical Grill, and Onyx Coffee Lab is close by. There are several breweries in the region as well!

RSVP to this informal session to be held next week - Wednesday, February 8 @ 10am CT - to learn how you can volunteer with Tessitura. You can help facilitate connections across the region - you’ll be surprised by the impact you can have on people’s lives, careers, and institutions!

The Role

Tessitura members come to community groups to expand their networks, share their expertise, and connect with peers around common interests. Community Chairs volunteer their time to build and lead these groups, and host meetups that bring members together to share best practices and build relationships. You'll:

- develop your leadership skills
- build valuable new networks
- take back tangible ideas and learnings to your work
- be recognized for your contribution internally at Tessitura and in the wider community
- and more...

Each community group is led by two to three co-chairs and may also have an extended planning team. Community groups are expected to meet virtually or in-person at least once per year.

Previous experience in group management or facilitation is not required. Tessitura provides initial onboarding, followed by on-going support and various resources. These include a dedicated Community Manager and invitations to events led by Tessitura, enabling you to connect with other Community Chairs globally.

The world is listening and responding to social injustice across America and the Black Lives Matter movement. Last month we gathered via Virtual Open Space Discussions to discuss how we, as arts and culture professionals, can support the change that needs to happen in our organizations and in the field.

Please join us as we continue these conversations in another round of Virtual Open Space Discussions. Bring your questions and engage in meaningful discussions with your peers around our theme “Anti-Racism and the Arts and Cultural Sector: A Moment for Response and Ideas, Continued.” This event is open to anyone in the community. Feel free to spread the word and invite your colleagues to join us.

The Tessitura Community has embraced the Open Space Discussions format at our global and regional conferences (TLCC, TEC and ANZTRUC), at Regional Tessitura User Group Meetings and, most recently, via virtual sessions. These events have presented wonderful opportunities for people to engage in discussions about topics that are important to them - to find others with the same concerns and share solutions.

The Tessitura Network is hosting two Virtual Open Space Discussion events on July 16th (July 17th AEST). You are welcome to participate in either (or both!).

The first event is timed to invite participation from Europe and the Eastern part of North America.

The second event is timed to invite participation from the Western part of North America, New Zealand and Australia.
