I know that I learned a lot and I’m sure that I’m not the only one. I hope that you saw value in what was shared, and that you’re able to implement positive changes around the use of Plans for your organizations.

Meetup #2 Reminder

Hello all!

Our second meetup is on Thursday, April 4^th, and our topic for discussion will be Plans in Tessitura. We're going to have two presentations, including one led by a member of the Tessitura Network team. Those who are eager to learn more about effective use of Plans will not want to miss this!

Greetings, Carolinians! A warm welcome to all new members!

Spring is in the process of springing, and—equally exciting—we are rapidly approaching our next scheduled meetup.

Tiffany and I are working on hammering out the exact agenda, but the theme will be Plans. We will have a representative from Tessitura as well as a member presentation, with an opportunity to discuss and ask questions.

If this topic is of interest, be sure to register for meetup #2 on April 4th. We will provide more information as we get closer to the date. In the meantime, feel free to reach out with any questions or just to chat.

Thank you all for attending our first member meeting last week! It was great to meet you all and I look forward to learning more about each of you this year! Michael and I think we have a lot of great ideas for future session topics moving forward this year, so thank you to everyone who participated.

Format for Meetup #1 - January 11, 2024

Hello everyone!

We've settled on a format for our first meetup. Even though it was the least popular format per the survey, we've decided to start with Lean Coffee. The intention is to have some time to socialize and connect, discussing topics that are important to us. The idea is that from this meetup we'll identify themes that will inform the rest of the meetups for the year. We can then organize guest speakers, presentations, and trainings around these themes. Come to this meeting prepared to do a brief introduction of yourself. Once we get through intros, we'll get into the topics that you want to talk about.

Here's a rough outline of how we'll spend the hour:

Intros (5-10 minutes)
Topics (35-40 minutes)
Wrap-up (10-15 minutes)

I'll post necessary material for accessing the Lean Coffee in the comments section for the meetup. As always, contact me or Tiffany if you have any questions.

Carolinas Group Meetup Schedule for 2024

Hello, all!

As you may have noticed, Tiffany and I established a quarterly community meetup schedule for 2024, kicking off with our first meetup on Thursday, January 11^th.

Here’s the full schedule (times are Eastern time zone):

We made this schedule based on your feedback from the survey (thank you for participating).

We got great suggestions for topics, but admittedly, I should’ve set this question up as a multi-select with an “other” option—there was a great variance in the topics suggested across the 3 questions. I took the suggestions and classified them as best I could to figure out what people wanted to talk about the most.

The “Other” slice (the biggest one) represents topics suggested that fell just outside of what I thought of as otherwise easily classifiable areas of Tessitura. Though it was the format that got the fewest number of votes, I think this would be a good argument for using Lean Coffee Table for at least one of our scheduled meetups. This way, everyone will get the opportunity to pose questions and discuss topics that are important to them with the group. Other than that, General Q&A, Show & Tell, and Presentations/Trainings are the formats we’ll stick to for our meetups.

It looks like a lot of folks in this group would be interested in an in-person meetup! While this could be challenging with our group representing two states, we will put our heads together and see if we can figure out a good location, date, and time that would work for those who want to participate.

Finally, if you’ve expressed interest in presenting and/or helping us plan meetups, please reach out to me or Tiffany (or both) with the topic for your presentation or to get invited to our planning meetings. We would be very grateful to have your help!

Idea Board Rallying Cry

Greetings, Carolinians!

I write to you requesting your help. I've just submitted an idea that I would love to see get votes and support. We've recently upgraded to v16, and we've discovered that the donation form now shows up on the payment page if you have a membership in cart. This might be fine for Transactional memberships, but ours are Philanthropic, and we don't want to ask people to contribute for member benefits, only to be asked again at checkout for another donation. Prior to the upgrade, this wasn't a problem. If you have the money for the membership going On Account, the form doesn't show up, but we would love to be able to have the money for a membership flow directly into the fund and remove the manual step of turning that On Account money into memberships. As soon as you assign a fund in LTR_TNEW_CONTRIB_TYPE, the donation form shows up.

It would be great if there was an additional control to turn the donation form off depending upon the contribution type, or the type of membership, or some other toggle. Your support of this idea would be greatly appreciated. Hopefully there can be more control over this feature before more organizations in our region start to move to v16.

Welcome to the new combined Carolina's Tessitura Community Group!

As Co-Chairs of the Caroina's Tessitura Community Group, Michael Dorsey and I would like to introduce ourselves.

My name is Tiffany Elliott (she/her), and I am the Tessitura Database and Operations Administrator for PBS North Carolina and I work remotely from my home in Foxborough, MA which is about 25 miles outside of Boston. I'm originally from Memphis, TN and Cincinnati, Ohio but my career in the arts did not begin until I moved to Boston in 2005 to be an opera singer. That did not quite work out, as we can see, but my utilization of Tessitura began in the Box Office at the Celebrity Series of Boston and I have been using Tessitura CRM in some capacity since 2008. I was a Business Analyst who specialized in Tessitura Implementations at JCA for a year before giving birth to my twin girls, Wendy and Abby in 2017. The girls are now 6 years old and have started kindergarten which means the fun officially begins now, amiright? I visit my office at the PBS station in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina a couple of times a year and in my spare time, I voluteer as a board member at my local community theater and cultural council trying to bring arts and culture to our little town that is the home of the New England Patriots.

Greetings, Carolinians! My name is Michael Dorsey (he/him), and I am the CRM Systems Manager for Spoleto Festival USA—a 17-day performing arts festival that takes place across downtown Charleston, SC, every year from late May to early June. My journey in the Tessitura-sphere began in early 2018, when I was hired as the CRM Specialist at the National WWI Museum and Memorial in Kansas City, MO. There, I was tasked with leading the implementation of Tessitura and TNEW on the museum side. Amazingly, I did not run away screaming, nor did I curl up under my desk, rocking back and forth, babbling nonsense (though I did come close to that). A big reason for that was this community. I’ve always found value in the Tessitura community groups in terms of professional development, and I’ve wanted to find a way to add to that value. I’m excited to be a part of the expansion of this already well-established, well-led group. I’m currently serving Spoleto remotely from Plymouth, MN, but my wife, fur-baby, and I will be relocating to the Charleston area this fall. If any of you have recommendations for must-see attractions or must-eat cuisine, let me know! Looking forward to connecting with you!

We are so pleased to join together the North and South Carolina's into a combined user community and we hope that this enables us to be more active and engaged. I'm grateful for Michael's volunteering to be a co-chair. He and I will be having regular meetings to come up with some ideas on how to start creating regular virtual meetups or discussions. Potential Merging of Carolinas -Tessitura Community Group

Good afternoon North Carolina Tesstiura Community Members!

I hope you all had a fantastic summer and for those of you who attended TLCC, had a fantastic conference and trip!

An idea has been proposed that I wanted to send along to the rest of our group about possibly combining the South Carolina and North Carolina Tessitura Community User Groups.

There are only 3 member organizations in South Carolina: Spoleto Festival USA, South Carolina's Children's Theatre, and Peace Center. I'd love to hear your thoughts about asking them to join our group as a 'Carolina's' user group. I welcome the additional engagement and look forward to hopefully setting up some more regular community activities with our new collegues. The more, the merrier!

I'm meeting with Michael Dorsey with Spoleto Festival next week about this topic and would love to share with him how our group feels about this idea. Likewise, if anyone wants to join on our call, let me know and I'll forward along the invite.

Hello, NC Community! With TLCC only two weeks away, Tiffany and I want to do a little information-gathering about everyone's goals - even if you're not attending the conference! If you are attending TLCC Denver: what are two or three high priorities for the conference that you're hoping to come home with more info about/having accomplished? If you are not attending - especially if no one from your organization is attending: what can the rest of the NC group bring back to the community on your behalf? Info about the v16 transition? Reports on everyone's year 3 pandemic practices? EDI practices? Knowing what everyone's priorities are will help us set the direction for the community group as most of us kick off our 22/23 seasons/programming years!

Good Morning!

I wanted to introduce myself to this group since I'm relatively new. I am the Tessitura CRM Manager at PBS NC (UNCTV) and I have decided to volunteer as co-chair for the North Carolina Tessitura Community group. :)

I currently work remotely and live in the Boston area. I have been a SME for Tessitura and Tessitura integrated products for about 10 years. I just recently returned to the workforce after a 4.5 year adventure being a full time mom of twin girls. Now that they're a bit more independent, I'm happy to be able to return back to the Tessitura community! My background is in ticketing and I worked at JCA as a Tessitura implementation consultant, helping map data conversions and onboarding new Tessitura clients.

Currently, I am the only chair of the North Carolina community and I think it would benefit us to have more than just me driving the boat. I will be taking quarterly visits to the Raleigh-Durham area and would be available for meet ups during those times, if interested. I will also be attending TLCC, so we can try to schedule a meetup there as well. My vision for our group is to create a place where we can share Tessitura specific knowledge and experience while providing support for each other while we navigate the new and changing world of today. I was one of the founding members of the Boston Tessitura Users Group and it remains a helpful platform for sharing expertise and presenting new ideas.

Last month we gathered via Virtual Open Space Discussions to discuss how we, as arts and culture professionals, can support the change that needs to happen in our organizations and in the field.

Please join us as we continue these conversations in another round of Virtual Open Space Discussions. Bring your questions and engage in meaningful discussions with your peers around our theme “Anti-Racism and the Arts and Cultural Sector: A Moment for Response and Ideas, Continued.” This event is open to anyone in the community. Contributions Report

Good morning, all!
I hope you are all enjoying some of the current teleworking situation.

I have a question specific to contributions. We are converting tickets sold into donations at times, in lieu of refunds. There is the ability to run batch details at the end of the day and see all the contribution activity with details of constituents and amounts. However, I would like to pull such a report for not just one user, but several for a period of three weeks. Does anyone know how/if this can be done?
