Good afternoon all and hello from the eastern side of the Hudson -

I'm passing along an opportunity from one of our "in network" vendors, Situation. They're hoping to facilitate some of the same type of collaborative connections we do within our local communities, so I'm glad to post it here.

Note that while the primary brain trust fun may tilt solidly into developer skills sets and API hijinks, there will certainly also be vibes of UX, UI, and 'we want our arts website to do X' for those a little more programmer-adjacent.

The theme of the event is "Learning through Collaboration and Connection" and is presented by Situation at our NYC office. This is an all-day, in-person event for developers in the Tessitura community. Whether you are an engineer working with the Tessitura API or are a Tessitura database SQL expert, this event will level-up your Tessitura platform wrangling skills. The day will feature presentations and workshops facilitated by fellow developers, plus small group breakout sessions where developers can have in-depth discussions, get assistance with active projects and contribute to documentation and other knowledge-sharing initiatives.

NSCAN, Scanner Devices and Mobile Ticketing

Hello NJ friends & colleagues, I hope everyone is enjoying this spring weather and news of increased capacities! I wanted to reach out to ask about what types of scanners your orginization uses for NSCAN? We recently left Audience View and are still using the older Saveo models that we purchased for that system about 6 years ago. Since loading NSCAN, they have been a bit unstable and give me alot of application errors. We are in the market for scanner upgrades. The documentation says that both Saveo and Zebra are compatible. Do any of you have a scanner that you are happy with? Anything I should know while shopping models? Also, are any of you using the new Moblie Ticketing offered by Tess? Does it work well with the scanners that you are using? Thank you in advance for any insights that you can share. Have a great weekend, Cheryl

New Jersey Tessitura Community's Next Meeting

Hello everyone. It was great meeting you last week. And I look forward to meeting more of you while we share ideas and best practices for the future. At our introductory meeting, we decided that our next meeting should take place in April, and after Easter. A few of us have thought that the 4:00pm hour worked well last week. And considering these meetings should not be much more than 45 minutes to an hour, we are hoping it does not interfere with anyone’s work schedule. Please fill out the Doodle poll linked below, which lists 6 possible days in April when we can meet again. It would be great to have your choices by next Thursday, March 25th. We also discussed agenda items for our future meeting(s) that included getting to know the member organizations. This may require one representative from each organization to speak for that organization, perhaps giving an overview of the operation and even how Tessitura best serves that organization. Another agenda item was sharing our personal Tessitura wish-lists that other members may be able to offer solutions to and suggestions for, on the spot. Finally, we discussed possible formats such as Lean Coffee Discussions and breakout groups for networking. All these items and formats will be considered as we come up with an agenda for our next meeting.
