Although a couple of my dashboards include more visually appealing charts, which I export for things like Board Reports. Here are a couple of examples for how I use pivot dashboards: to track ticket sales (with DoD and WoW functions), contributions by CFD/AS, DoW Analysis, Group Sales, MOS, Sales by Price Type & Zone or Payment Method, Subs packages YoY analyses, and NTF Retention analyses by importing Lists. Although a lot of these simpler dashboards can be achieved through the standard Reports, I always prefer Analytics because it just gives you so many more options in terms of sistering two (or more!) data points in a way that Reports doesn't allow. The biggest challenge is that it doesn't have real-time updates, so your data is always as of "last night." But once you get used to that, it becomes managable. For example, if I know I'm about to do a big analysis that includes bringing a bunch of Lists into Anaytics, I will make sure to build all of the Lists on one day so that the next day it's ready in Analytics for the analysis... just a bit more planning required. They also have a meetup today at noon, eastern , but that's really short notice. I wanted to ask what has everyone been using Analytics for, and how it's going? I use a dashboard for my semi-monthly Membership Board Report (that I assembled this morning, so it's top of mind), and an underutilized widget (IMO) is simply adding text boxes with narratives that explain the pretty data charts. For our board members, they can see the pretty charts, but also I can fill in details and present narratives. Then I export into a PDF to add to a board book. Another cool thing is that I have a year progress meter, and a campaign goal progress meter side-by-side so that I can monitor my goal progress vs. the amount of time left in the year. It's pretty cheeky, and please don't judge that I'm 8% behind my goal right now . August is a big renewal month, okay!?
